This is how Microsoft plans to kill the Android and iOS platforms..

Unlike BlackBerry which let users run Android apps on BlackBerry 10 devices, Microsoft is taking another technical approach to break the backbone of Android and iOS with its hotly anticipated unified Windows 10 OS releasing this summer.

Developers are not willing to build apps on the unpopular Windows phones, but Microsoft may have found a way to turn the tides. Apps built for Android and iOS would be able to run on Windows 10 devices. Unlike BlackBerry’s approach, where you had to sideload Android apps or find a way to install Google Play on the device, the apps would technically be Windows apps, available only within Microsoft app store.

The apps will not use Google services but Microsoft’s, like the Bing maps. This is where Microsoft would be able to get revenue and keep its mobile ecosystem refreshed. You would recall that Samsung, who account for roughly 75% of the total Android market-share finds itself in this dilemma, where Google continues to make huge profits from every Samsung devices sold, this has equally forced Samsung to re-think its mobile strategy with the development of the new Tizen OS, in a attempt to create an ecosystem centered across Samsung, but has been consumed with several embarrassing delays. No one knows for sure, if Tizen would be a success or an instant...

Or continuum for windows phone(a feature dat turns ur phone to PC)?,have u heard of surface hub and surface tablet(a tablet dat is making ipad and apple to loose sales)?.......the world is going back to windows

I don't see anything "ingenious" in this. It's like using the tune and lyrics of two popular songs to create yours and be claiming you're a song writer and singer(like some Nigerian artists), there's nothing creative about that.

Dis is not first and dis wont be last........in early 200,microsoft came late to 'internet age',only to come back and dorminate internet era.....came late to tablet computing(know as post pc era),microsoft surface pro 3 is sweeping ipads and galaxy tblets out of market....and here comes 'hololens',the new personal computer

What you are say is like converting android apps to windows instead of building windows app from the start. Am confused here.

Presently with bluestack you can run android apk apps on Windows. That of ios may come in future.

Building a new windows app will be more stressful,tasky and ll take a longer time.due to poor windows smartphone marketshare,developers tend to neglect windows for ios and android,where investment yield huge return.to ease developers stress of developing new app on windows,microsoft developed a new software called 'astoria' dat ll help developers develope already existing apps in android or ios for windows.this will ios/android programing language to windows' using windows API.....note dat dis app bcomes full windows app unlike blackberry,kindle etc dat port apps from android to its ecosystem(while d ported app retain android API,appearance and fill)....dis method is different from emulators like bluestack.

What rim did is totally different from microsoft.....microsoft is not using android app but help in converting android app code to windows code system.while still retaining windows API,which meansthe converted app is fully windows no longer an android app(unlike RIM BB10)....its like google having ingredient to prepare a food and already made food from the ingredient....blackberry collects the already-mad food from google,while microsoft chose to collect the ingredient from google and make its own food

I pity google,cyanogen is coming to haunt dem...most android oem are not happy with google monopoly and strictness on android....oem are likely to go cyanogen.the recent patnership with xiaomi by microsoft is google headache giving
