you mean when our grandmothers and great grandmothers of old did their wedding and wore our traditional attires then, they weren't virgins. They were of course, but those western culture were not yet borrowed then. And it (our traditional wear) was respected then.

The reason you gave might actually be the reason for whites to introduce white dress for their brides, but you know, when we wanted to borrow the culture, i doubt if they even knew the purpose for the introduction of the said white bridal gown!

The whites don't have inferiority complex, we're the one who aint satisfied with ours and we copy everything they do. So, i doubt if the can copy our TM way of doing weddings.

The essence of that white garment had been defeated. It signifies virginity and purity and the unveiling signifying she had no canal knowledge of any man but today we retain the tradition but discard the purpose.
