How To Enjoy A Solo Travel by Nobody: 4:24pm On May 12, 2015
Travelling alone can be quite boring and unsatisfactory, no one to take pictures with or share the laughs and momentary experience. Believe it or not, it takes a lot of guts to dare to travel alone whilst you plan to have fun and a glorious remembrance of your trip. Most people plan a solo travel because they need to get away from their environment and people, go far away from it so they can have a clear mind, time to think over an issue or come to terms with some life changing development. With an opened mind and bravery, you can travel alone and have fun while at it or achieve positive results, no matter your reason for doing so.

First is to make all necessary arrangements beforehand:
You cannot afford to be stranded or overly stressed. Give adequate room for preparations. Buy your bus, train or flight tickets, book a room, take all necessary documents (especially if you are going outside your country) and pack your luggage before the day you are to travel. Read about security in the area; make sure it’s somewhere you will be safe in.

Have a Plan B & C
Yes, you have made all the necessary arrangements, double checked your room bookings, and ascertained your flight, bus or train departure time. But you need to be opened to maybes, what if there’s a delay in your departure time? That may mess with your schedule. What if you don’t like the hotel room you booked or you get bounced? You need to have other accessible options.

Then, make friends along the way:
Do not build a wall around yourself, return a hello politely, smile and have a little chit chat with people you meet on the bus, train, ship or airplane. You will feel alone at times, but that doesn’t mean you are lonely; which is why having a friendly conversation with someone who is less likely to harm you should be considered.

You can also read a Book or learn something new:
Read a novel, magazine or brochure. Reading a book can be a great way to pass time and enjoy yourself at the same time. If you are willing to stay over a long period, learn something new – language, dance.

Remember to savour the Environment:
Go sightseeing, enjoy the weather, learn about the surroundings - be a little adventurous!

Attend Events in the Area:
Upon your arrival, you may be lucky to stumble on shows, festivals or events going on in the area, don’t hesitate - go for it if you have no other plans.

Looking on the brighter side of solo travel…
You can enjoy yourself to the fullest without compromise. You want to sleep all day? Yes you can, it’s your vacation. You want to spend the whole day shopping and sightseeing the city? Well, knock yourself out. You get to be yourself and do what you want anytime. Besides, you can make some life changing discovery about yourself as you will have enough room to think better, alone in the new environment.

Behave cautiously:
Remember there is no buddy to drag you back to your abode if you get drunk or get into a fight, so behave yourself, be adventurous and careful at the same time. Follow your instincts too, it saves lot!

It takes guts to plan a solo travel and extra guts to embark on one, so if you are planning or soon to embark on a solo travel, you are a brave one!
