The Ekiti State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), on Tuesday said seven doctors have received threats of kidnap from unknown gunmen.

This is coming barely one week after the former Chief Medical Director of Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital, Dr Patrick Adegun and a nurse with Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti, Mrs Margaret Aladenika, were kidnapped.

Adegun was kidnapped alongside his wife, Kikelomo, a few metres to the gate of their house located on Goshen Avenue, Federal Housing in Ado Ekiti metropolis.

The Chairman of NMA in Ekiti state, Dr John Akinbote, told newsmen in Ado-Ekiti that the seven doctors received text messages from kidnappers, saying they could be picked up anytime.

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Akure Zone, had also called for overhauling of the security chiefs in the State.
They hinged the call on ‘poor professional handling of the kidnap of a member of the association, Dr Femi Omisore of the Obafemi Awolowo University in Ekiti state last week..

Omisore was kidnapped on May 6, while his driver Saheed was shot in the head and his vehicle set ablaze “for stressing the captors while being chased.”

NMA and ASUU said on Tuesday that the Police and the State Security Service had not been handling the matter in most professional way.

Zonal Cordinator of ASUU, Akure, Dr Alex Odiyia, appealed to Gov. Ayodele Fayose to get rid of hoodlums in the state.

The number of kidnapped cases in ekiti as of now is 15.
It seems they have relocated to ekiti state.
The IGP should also relocate their ASAP before they kidnap all ekiti people .
Its becoming a dangerous trend in ekiti

I'm just wondering when would these buffoons in government pass a bill that makes kidnapping an offense punishable by death: firing squad. What in the world are they getting salaries for?

Scary Footage Of Nepal Earthquake During Pool Party Should Remind You To Help
While it may be fascinating to watch footage of the earthquake, it's important to remember the consequences of such a massive natural disaster. Since the earthquake struck, Nepal has faced unimaginable pain and tragedy. More than 8,000 people have
died, and over 17,000 were injured in the quake. Amongst the wreckage and destruction, though, has emerged something just as powerful as nature: the power of empathy and aid.

In the wake of this tragedy, several countries, organizations and individuals have stepped up to give the people of Nepal a helping hand. The Disasters Emergency Committee from the U.K. has raised £50 million, or more than $77 million. India has sent over 1,000 workers, 50 tons of water and 22 tons of food, according to Indian Express. The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has given $10 million. China sent 62 search and rescue workers and pledged more than $3.3 million in aid, according to TIME

Israel, Malaysia, Pakistan and Australia have all been huge contributors, as well. But it isn't just countries. World famous soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo let go of $8 million, and pleaded for his Facebook followers to donate to Save The Children's relief fund. Speaking of Facebook, they are matching every dollar donated to Nepal through their website.

Still, though, Nepal needs more. The U.N. announced last week they need funds to be "dramatically ramped up."

Please share this article when you're done reading to help the people of Nepal.
