Lohan was raised a Catholic, has since spoken about other 'spiritual beliefs'
She was pictured holding the Koran after first day of community service

Lindsay Lohan was photographed carrying a copy of the Koran after her first day of community service in Brooklyn, New York, on Wednesday.

The actress - who is of Irish and Italian heritage and was raised as a Catholic - held a hard copy of the Muslim holy book in her arm as she finished a day of office work at a children's center. She reportedly arrived two hours late.

It comes as the 28-year-old embarks on an 'emotional detox', giving up alcohol and dating.


The Koran prescribes a lifestyle free of alcohol for Muslims - though readers of the book do not necessarily subscribe to the religion.

Last year Lindsay described herself as a 'very spiritual person' in a docu-eeries with Oprah Winfrey.

'I'm a very spiritual person and I've become more spiritual as time has gone on,' she told the talk show host.

'I'm really in touch, whether it's prayer or meditation... there are so many powers greater than me in the world. I've been blessed and lucky enough to have been given a gift to share with other people.'

Born Catholic, then on to Buddhism, then Jewish Kabbala; now Islam. Is it the alcohol at work or she really is confused about which religion to settle on?

By the will and grace of Allah, this will be her last religion; the same way it was for Cat Stevens and Loon, aka Chauncey Lamont Hawkins.

By Allah, this religion shall spread to all corners of the world in spite of those that want to destroy it, both inside it and outside it- haters keep hating.

I hope she completes the service so she doesn't do jail time, with the hours needed from her for community service I think she needs all the spiritual help available cheesy

And what does that make us Nigerians...and Africans.?

Just because we are religious does not mean we are better people.

Right now, thousands of Africans....including Nigerians...are crossing the sea to go to the same old confused west...because their sane governments cannot guarantee good governance.

Learn from the 'irreligious west'...not their confusion, but their problem solving skills. Which we Africans seem to lack.

That's what she's definitely doing!

Lindsay's life , however, has not known any discipline probably since birth. Remember she was a child movie star, and probably had all she asked for all the time.

She has to learn the basics of life, e.g "you cant eat your cake and have it!"

What relevance is the book she's carrying to her life if she's dressed like that?

When she's learned life's lessons, the world will see the change.

Not before.
