The first African to win the award is Albert Camus. Though he was French-Algerian.

Albert Camus was considerd as a French man although he has an Algerian root.

he is often referd to as

"Albert Camus French Nobel Prize winning author, journalist, and philosopher." cos he achieved his learning and living the french life.
