The FRSC is the most redundant agency in nigeria. I daresay its just a socialist service to reduce unemployment.

They duplicate the functions of metro and highway cops, they dont check roadworthiness, hazards etc.

Ive seen some horrendous death machines driving right by these brown shirted turds with nary a care. Dangerously overloaded welded-together pick up trucks, with no side mirrors and turn indicators, overloaded lorries with over inflated tyres, okadas functioning as vans with sheets of glass piled high, a small cabriolet piled high with furniture, the horrors never end.

All FRSC does is pack up mangled corpses after a crash.

VIO is to process and issue drivers license, vehicle licrnse, vehicle insurance while FRSC is to inspect vehicles, particulars and drivers license and road manners of drivers

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, on Monday, said that the corps would commence a crackdown on drivers who possess fake drivers license.

He also explained that the Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIOs) were not permitted by law to inspect vehicle and drivers licences.

Speaking on the progress the corps has made, the FRSC boss said that road crashes reduced by 40 per cent last year.

Nigeria is honestly a strange land now how many people now responsible for vehicle particulars inspection In all country I have been to its only police I have seen on the road checking vehicle particulars but in Nigeria police is almost dump to road traffic and bribe collection business that is all.

I have seen Lastna checking vehicle particulars in Lagos I witnessed civil defense checking a car particlars very soon boys scout, man o war, girls guide, red cross will soon stand on the road to check vehicle particulars

Wait a minute I think road safety that now become road almighty Lord in Nigeria was founded mainly then to checkmate high speed driver on highway and usage of seat belt suddenly they digress to inside city checking from their vehicle particulars and now even drivers licence became their property oh heaven and this ends up making police job useless then the FG should scrap police then and let VIO, Road safety, Lastma, Boys scout, Red Cross, man o war do the job.

In serious countries we don't have multiple agencies performing duplicate functions - we have a centralized police force with different departments to handle different elements of policing, inspection and maintenance of law and order.

They should spare us this story and scrap VIO or merge them with FRSC. Their existence is absolutely unnecessary.

Corps Marshal Oyeyemi should first address the recklessness of FRSC drivers who thinks they are above the law. Thereafter, he should address the issue of delayed driver's license that his organization in unable to fulfill their commitment to people in record time before listing the faults of other people/organizations. Why are some people so good at identifying the faults of others and looking away from theirs?

VIOs are just touts on the road. Even with the manner they flag down vehicles with spikes to their manner of approach and even dressing. Everything in them shows that they are a bunch of nincompoops on the road.
