Not many people today wants to be addressed with the words slave and by associated with it. Many view the word slave in bad light. There is however a difference between forced slavery and one who do so voluntarily. Maybe a servant is a better replacement for voluntary slavery. Philemon was a christian who had a gentile slave named Onesimous. Onesimous later become a christian and Paul urged Onesimous to go back to his master and urged his master to treat him as a brother rather than a slave.

The point is choose to acquire a servant (i choose to use servant cos most people confuse slave for the servant sometimes), should treat one with respect and dignity and not maltreat him.

The bible specifically used the word slave and servants in different ways. And please stop the apology of saying Not many people today because these many people still believe the bible, a 4000 year old book to be the the Inspired word of their God.

So you believe it is morally right to have another human being as your slave? And you're think if you treat your slaves, servants according to the bible you are a godly person? Huh?

YES OR NO

Okay, Lets rephrase the question. It is morally wrong for an Igbo man to take a young Igbo boy from his village for serve him for 7 yrs while teaching him a trade in the process and thereafter establishes him to start his own business?

Is also morally wrong for a pregnant woman/nursing mother to get a helper (house-maid) to help her do chores at home and she feeds her and send her to school and even give are stipends in the process?

Or is it morally wrong for an Hausa man to have a number of boys who take care of his cattle and livestock and he settles them when they are done with the servitude?

There is nothing morally wrong with the above scenarios if those involved were not either kidnapped or forced to the work

The thread asked for the opinions of Christians and Believers, not atheist or agnostics. So if you would disprove me all any point made, pls stick with/to the bible.

I am sure respecting other people's opinion and believes goes well with agnostics and atheist!
