I have often come across many Nigerians overseas and in the end, we all talk about "No place like Home". Everyone still refers to Nigeria as home. The Irony is, many of these folks havnt been to Nigeria in 5, 10, 12 years or longer. And I begingto ask myself; 1. Where is home for you? 2. If you love home so much, can you be afford to be away for a decade or more? 3. How much home is HOME when you hardly know what is going on there anymore. I speak the same to folks living in Nigeria that dont know their hometown/viallage anymore, nor have been there in ages. Where is your HOME? |

In Short ehh.. When people say NO place like HOME. They just saying it for saying sake. Small talk about their country and why the place they r presently at is bad, They SHOUT: No place like HOME. They don't think of HOME until a terrible thing happens to them where they r at. |

I agree with you adesodgi and queeen but for the sake of the post: I was born and raised in DC so to me the metropolitan area (DC, MD, and VA) will always be like home to me. I say home because there in it lies the area that has given me fond childhood memories. To this day, I am still in this area. But I will also say that where ever I settle in life, I will make it my home. No sense in yearning for a place I may never live in again. |
