In summary, this is the "fresh breath" that uncle jonah promised us during 2011 election. And am too sure that majority of those who are complaining now, voted for the fresh breath.
Kindly endure and enjoy while it last.

The time when we where calling for subsidy removal in 2012, a lot of people where criticizing GEJ, they where against the move, ACN used it to deceive the masses. Now we are all seeing the result.

Our airports looks pathetic. Fly abroad and see what airports looks like.

They look pathetic because you Nigerians don't have enough money to fund all the airports properly.

APC was not existing then. But a lot of Nigerians opposed the move because people who live under a dollar a day cannot suddenly be expected to pay more than that for a liter of fuel.

I guess if the removal of subsidy had been followed up with massive investment in public transport.....perhaps it may have cushioned the effect a bit.

And your beloved PDP govt too should take the blame for not repairing our refineries, and for allowing looting of the crude from the pipes to continue too.

Now that they know there is fuel to fly they can easily call their drivers to come and take them back home. Cancel all appointments. Simple!

U r really broken. Did he try again? He brought a nice idea but his timing was poor.
Hw does fuel subsidy stop him from building refineries or repair existing ones?

Not exactly....the cabal benefit from fuel subsidy removal more...they will be able to sell fuel at much higher prices....meaning higher profits than whatever they are getting now.

The reason why Nigeria has not removed subsidy is because most Nigerians are living below the poverty line...and see subsidy as the only good thing they get from the government. Forget the fact that it is not sustainable at all...even with high oil prices...Nigerians prefer cheap fuel. And let's be frank...once subsidy goes...fuel prices jump....which means foodstuff prices and transport prices jump. In other words...it would be like the early days of MTN/ECONET/ETC...when one sim could cost you thousands of naira....before prices went down thanks to competition.

But most Nigerians...including you....do not see that. You want your cheap oil. And that puts pressure on marketers...who under subsidy end up earning little or zero profit. So it is either they risk the wrath of the DPR...and sell fuel at high prices from N110 and above....or they inflate the amount of fuel they import...and pocket the difference...while importing less than they asked for. I know some marketers are corrupt...but they are businesspeople...who are not running charities.

When we had high oil revenues....we could afford subsidies. But now we cannot thanks to the drop in international oil prices. This means no kudi for the treasury...the same treasury that we use to pay for subsidies. That is the main reason why subsidy must go. The money is finished. Oil prices will never reach above $100 again. And Nigeria has too many people. The only solution we have now is industries.
U R right but d problem we have in Nigeria is that our refineries are not working. The crude that we produced is been exported out of the country and at the same time imported back into the country at its end products. We know our problem but because some people are benefiting from it, they will always fight against building new refineries or refubrishing d existing ones. God will help us!

Like I said during the campaigns, you can make all the money you like but there comes a time when money in the bank cannot save you.

This is an example.

People were supporting politicians because of bribes. If the system fails, no hospital will treat sick/ill ones. No flights to rush to foreign hospitals. Guess what? The benefactor dies with the bribery money intact in the bank. Tell me a better definition of a fool.

Nigerians can only learn the hard way. One would expect a protest towards Aso Rock by now. If jungle justice has to prevail, so be it. The oppressors live within. They are neither invisible nor invincible. But no! Nigerians would rather go to church to wait for Jesus Christ to come down and take care of this.
