Governor Godswill Akpabio says the essence of government is to be responsive to the needs of the people at all times.

He said in the past eight years, his administration has left no stone unturned in ameliorating the challenges of the people and ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of residents in the State.

Akpabio who spoke when he commissioned the Dominic Utuk Ravine outfall flood channel and erosion control project, as well as the Phase One of the Dominic Utuk Avenue expansion project expressed happiness that through the ingenuity of the technical handlers of the project, the road which had almost been completely lost to gully erosion, had been reclaimed.

He thanked Nigerpet Engineering Service for their commitment to the project, adding that several roads that were in dilapidated state have been renovated.

He said he felt fulfilled as the road which houses several big churches, a seminary, two nursery schools, several hospitality concerns, and links Nwaniba Road with Wellington Bassey Way; was reclaimed, expanded and beautified.

The Governor while commending the construction giants Nigerpet noted, “many governments had tried but they could not stop the menace, but through Nigerpets engineering I am standing on what was forgotten as a ravine. We are happy that we have an administration that cares and responds to the yearnings of the people”.

He said that rather than simply putting up a permanent notice of “Danger Ahead, Road Diversion,” like other governments did in the past, he decided to save the state capital from the hazard.

Speaking, the commissioner for Works, Mr Don Etim noted that the gully erosion control has been taken to a logical conclusion.

“Sir it will interest you to know that this solution has saved over 27 streets from erosion menace, floods and dirt problems that go with it”.

Other projects inaugurated yesterday by the governor included a modern bridge linking Ekpenyong axis 1 and 2 in Essien Udim local government, a new administrative block in the Federal Polytechnic – Ukana, as well as internal roads in some local government areas of the state.

Governor Akpabio was accompanied by his wife, Ekaette, the incoming first family, Mr and Mrs Udom Emmmanuel, women groups and other stakeholders.

Essien Ndueso,
Chief Information Officer

Best Governor the Moment presents.
.
who ever took these photos really need to improve, we should be seeing more of the project than the people commisioning it.

Meanwhile.....those boys from the west will start a war here sooner.

Akpabio remains the best governor. Not that media propagandist called Fashola whose construction are handled by quacks.

Fashola is overrated by APC media houses..
I think this dude performance surpasses that of fashola in Lagos state..
I stand to be corrected though..

Gov. Akpabio is another Tinubu in the making in Akwa Ibom state.
The Governor Elect is just a Figurehead..

Akpabio has done it again !

While Fashola is being overrated by the APC, Akpabio is showing the right path to all governors whom decided to punish their own people.

great !

Though I am from the South West, I think I can proudly say that this man is obviously one of the Greatest Governors Nigeria has produced

I would rate him high alongside the likes of Donald Duke of Cross River, Buba Marwa ; Former Military Administrator of Lagos, and Fashola of Lagos during his First Tenure.
