It Is Riskier. by MrSunesis(m): 4:04am On May 25, 2015 |
People say entrepreneurs take risks. I say employees take far greater risks! -Sunesis It is riskier to know I can suddenly be out of a job I just got 'just like that'. It is riskier knowing my future is controlled by another man-the boss-and that he can determine when I rise or fall, and how fast or slow I get there. It is riskier to know I am not in total control of how much I can possibly earn; or to know there will be a pay cut and I can do little to stop it; or to keep hoping for a pay rise while most of my bills do not observe such sentiments but just keep rising. It is risky to see my boss thinks he/she is doing me a favour by giving me a job. It is even riskier knowing the favour can suddenly stop. It is riskier knowing I can suddenly lose my job due to my boss's decisions, or circumstances beyond my influence. It is riskier knowing I will spend years building another man's vision instead of mine until I retire; then I start to wonder where 30-40 years of my life went. Yes. It is far too risky, much too risky, to know that I am not in absolute control of my future. If I ever work a 9-5 job, I must work towards owning part of the business, or running my own 'something by the side', to keep me as an entrepreneur. It is a lot of work, but it is far less risky. This way, I keep control. Chuks Sunesis
