Good news Nigeria. The Major Oil marketers association of Nigeria (MOMAN) has reached an agreement with the federal government to begin lifting of petroleum products across the country “in six hours”. This was revealed by the chairman of the senate committee on petroleum resources, Magnus Abe. Abe said that the resolution was reached after a meeting between the committee he heads; MOMAN; Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of finance.and coordinating minister for the economy; Joseph Dawha, group managing director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector. According to a report by The Cable newspaper, the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas workers (NUPENG) and the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) have suspended their industrial actions. http://www.thescoopng.com/just-in-fuel-lifting-to-resume-today-and-nupeng-calls-off-strike/ http://lindaikeji..com/2015/05/oil-marketers-agree-to-call-off-strike.html CC Seun and Lalastica |

Good move. BUT This scenario of National Embarrassment of Fuel Scarcity is ONE reason why the Oil Sector must be deregulated. Imagine if we've supported GEJ way back in 2012 to remove fuel subsidy, we won't be put in this mess of scarcity again. But WE are too short-sighted and beclouded with politics then. Now, i hope we will support the new government if he want to deregulate? I SUPPORT SUBSIDY REMOVAL |
