Are you sure they have an arrest warrant? The article said, they have a "provisional" arrest warrant.

The word "provisional" indicates that, they are still waiting for the real arrest warrant. You can't be holding an arrest warrant and doing a maiguard at the front door or gate of the suspect, you go in straight to take him into custody, breaking down every barracades in the process.

Else NDLEA would have broken down the gates, doors, walls and throw his behind into jail.

It would suffice. Look we all know it's too late for NDLEA to withdraw they've dealt their hand and if they withdraw the man would get on a private jet and disappear forever.

They could have waited for Buhari to be sworn in, my guess is this could be the hand work of Jonathan , he may have betrayed Kasahamu as a parting gift to the Americans in exchange for future favour.
The NDLEA is led by Bode Georges Wife a PD0 chieftain, if they did not arrest him over the last 5 years why now !

You are the silly one, you rely on rumors without evidence, have you seen anybody file a suit against Tinubu or why did kashamu refuse to visit the court on monday where a case of either he should be taken to the states or not was to hold, now you expecting NDLEA to listen to one shit, The era of impunity is over and he cant be freed cuz that would further tarnish the already dent image of the country.

You are a full blown ode for defiling a competent court of law. That act in it self its impunity.

If it was just an ordinary citizen, won't they by now forcefully gain entrance into that house to arrest him? All this siege won't be news.

Nigerians embarassing the judicial system even more.
.
Why not get a warrant and arrest this Man instead of going against court order?
.
Smh for this country

Seems you know alot about legal matters? LOL
according to you "Why not get a warrant" who gives the warrant ? Is it not the Court? Going against the court will not get the NDLEA a warrant.
The NDLEA should work with the information that they have and summon him to court, they should make a case rather than trying to pick him up like how the police does to the sad poor common Nigerian man on the street.

So, in other words, the NDLEA would rather obey the order of the United States government than the order of a Nigerian High Court? Is this not the most shameful manifestation of inferiority complex and 'colonial mentality'? This is ridiculous.

My thinking too. We belittle ourselves to western countries and thats why their media keep refering to us as people living under one dollar per day

NDLEA showing there reckless power. If the NDLEA wants to follow the rule of Law , they should accept the court order first and move away from Kashamu house and later go to court and challenge the ruling. We are all expecting changes in Nigeria and the Court ruling is not accpted by ordinary govt agency. Shame on NDLEA. The whole WORLD is watching the country with interest. The NDLEA is not police. It is only in Nigeria I see a soldier perfoming the duty of a policeman.
Who is NDLEA not to accept the ruling of the court. They are just doing all these so as for Kasamu not to be sworn in.

What nonsense are you saying? If NdLEA has no warrant of arrest as you guessed, what are they doing at his premises placing him illegally under house arrest? America's request does not amount to a warrant of arrest. Only a court can issue such. And who told you a court can not prevent the executive arm of government from going ahead with implementing an extradition request? In case you don't know, the court will still have to look into the case and decide whether or not there are enough grounds to warrant his extradition. If you have followed the case closely, you would have known that the same Kashamu was once arrested in the UK for onward extradition to the US. When the case got to British court, the court held that he won't get a fair trial in USA and so, the extradition request was rejected. That's how the law works, not this kind of emotional jungle justice you people are clamouring for.

I have made other comments about an extra diction hearing that he has to face and the fact that a Nigeria Judge have to hold a limited scope hearing about him getting a fair trial, plus if the punishment he faced are sanctionable within the Nigeria context.

Also, note that the executive branch have every right to monitor the movement of someone who they believe is a flight risk until they can obtain an arrest warrant.

It appear that is what NDLEA is doing in this case. I have read many news reporting on this and all of them indicates that, he is the one that locked himself inside his bedroom and refused to leave.

The extradition case in UK that he prevailed upon, was not evidentiary nor did it look into the merit of the allegations against him. The UK judged ruled in his favor then, because the U.S. sealed identifying information from the court, the dynamics of the extradition this time around could be different.

I heard he refused to go to court in Nigeria to hear the extradition case against him. He should attend the extra diction hearing in Nigeria and present his case.
