How a new Yoruba leader will emerge, by Sijuwade

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, yesterday in Lagos gave a hint on how the new leader of the Yorubas will emerge. The royal father, in a speech read on his behalf at the presentation of the Commemorative Publication titled " Awo: On the trail of a titan" as part of activities to mark the Centenary celebration of the late Sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo said the Yoruba traditional rulers across West Africa sub-region have agreed to collaborate and come up with strategies on how the new leader will be appointed to lead the Yoruba race into the promised land.

Specifically, Sijuwade stated that the 250 traditional rulers of Yoruba stock who attended the festival of Yoruba Arts in Ile-Ife have agreed to appoint forty eminent Yoruba leaders who will be chosen from various segments of the Yoruba society examine and recommend who will be the next leader of the Yorubas.

Addressing the audience, including the aged wife of late Awolowo, Chief (Mrs) HID Dideolu Awolowo and Chief Reuben Fasoranti, leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Afenifere, Oba Sijuwade noted that in the record of the Yoruba race, Papa Obafemi Awolowo was the second leader that lived after the legendary "Oduduwa", stressing that, " Up till today, Papa's record has not been beaten and we are all praying to God Almighty to provide for us another leader that will be like the late Papa Obafemi Awolowo".

He pointed out that, "If Papa Awolowo had not taken that decision to form that political party that governed Western Nigeria at that time, we would probably have lost our identity as a race by now".

Let look at the population figure of the New republic of Benin in 20 years.


The present figure which they claim is official from the benin govt and nigeria govt, put us as about 50 million people.

We have seen the satellite picture and we know that the nigeria figure is not correct. We know it is above 60 million people at the moment.


Now here is what our population would be in 20 years.

We are going to use the population growth rate of nigeria to calculation the Population of The New republic of Benin.

In 1991 to 2006 , which was about 15 years. Nigeria population went from 88.5 million to 140 million.
The population growth rate would be calculated as

140/88.5 = 1.5819 ( which is the closer to the average in africa)

So if our population is 60 million today. And at the same growth rate of nigeria in 15 years. The new republic of Benin would have a population in 15 years of

60 ,000,000 X 1.5819 = 94. 9152 million people.

And in 20 years would have population above 100 million people.

So will a people of over 100 million in 20 years, will they allow thier future to be determine by others. The answer is no. This is why we would have problem in future, if we do not move the Yorubas and bendle area to the republic of benin.

The new republic of Benin would have a population of over 100 million people in the next 20 years. Which is a population that is good for business too.

President of Benin Republic, Dr Thomas Boni Yayi, on Saturday shocked prominent Yoruba Obas and leaders when he announced in impeccable Yoruba language at Ile-Ife that he was happy to be back home.

Yayi, who was in Ile-Ife to receive an honorary doctorate degree from the Obafemi Awolowo University and a chieftaincy title from the Ooni of Ife, said he was happy to be where his story started.

"Kabiyesi, my being here today is home-coming. It is the water that weaned me that I have come to see. It is the breast that I sucked that I have come to behold. Just continue to pray for me, your son who is the President of Benin Republic," he told the Ooni after he was conferred with the chieftaincy title of Sooko Adimula Obaninuola of Ife.
Yayi, who is from the Yoruba-speaking part of Benin Republic, told his audience which included Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Afenifere leaders - Chiefs Reuben Fasoranti and Ayo Adebanjo – and the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji AbdulMumini Kabir Usman, that his country and Nigeria were inseparable brothers.
"Nigeria and Benin share the same culture, people and history. Indeed, Benin is Nigeria's 37th state while Nigeria is Benin's 7th department," he said.
He added that he was happy that the regional integration started by former President Olusegun Obasanjo was being continued by the Umaru Yar’Adua administration.
He was accompanied by over ten Yoruba Obas from Benin Republic.

You see, to better understand our stand. This woman in the picture warn of the genocide in Rwanda , her name is Alison Des Forges. Just like we are doing, she did the same. She die in the new york plane crash yesterday.

You see It is not that we hate igbos or hausa. You see me, I have people in my family with my last name who are half Igbo and some are half other group. Please verify this statement. This is the only solution , the other solution would mean , yorubas have dual citizen of Benin and Nigeria. While Benin take control of the land and administration. And we yorubas can vote in Benin, but with Nigeria , we would not be able to vote for the position of president. but would have senators and reps.  And benin also have the right to leave anything and are at the same time a country outside nigeria.
Benin takes ownership of land and others, . While we can vote in benin for president and not nigeria.

Alison Des Forges did everything possible to stop the Rwanda genocide but nobody listen. And we do not want nigeria case to be the same.
