Song Review: Ladi By Olamide And Phyno Ft Lil Kesh by DONSIA(m): 12:50pm On May 27, 2015

Track: Ladi – Olamide & Phyno ft Lil Kesh
Album: 2kings (Olamide and Phyno)
I’ve seen many reviews on this track by Nigerians. Many critics pointed at the vulgar words that were used in the song. Though some don’t see anything bad in the song.
This will make me divert to overview of hip hop music in the world. Hip Hop genre of music is not to win souls for God. It was originated by the white to entertain their people before it was brought to Africa. In year 2013, Miley Cyrus released ‘Wrecking ball’ which is about broken heart but she went totally naked in its video. This proved that hip hop music is more of entertaining than sending positive message.
Hip Hop as a genre of music is not for kids because of its content. This is how it is in Nigeria and other countries too.
Back to Ladi, I can only give the song 3/10 under vulgar songs because the words were maturely presented.
I remember that the worst vulgar songs were released in this country in the past. Examples are:
1. Damoche by Late Damino Damoche
2. Dadubule by Skaley Mental
Both artiste mentioned raw names of sexual organs yet the songs were accepted by Nigerians. This gave other artistes courage that they can sing anything because Nigerians are not after the content of a song.
As I’ve said ealier in this post, the vulgar words in Ladi were maturely presented. It’s only Lil Kesh that used most vulgar words in the song yet they are not raw. Ladi is targeted at youths not kids. It’s a message to the youths to stop a bad habit which is common now. This bad act is even promoted by some writers who are hunger for fame and traffic.
Note:
Ladi means licking (sucking) of p*ssy.
Iranu means nonsense
Abasha means dirtiness
That is, licking or sucking of p*ssy is nonsense and dirtiness. The concept of the song is the best way to catch the attention of its target audience. It’s the right of the parents to censor the kind of songs they want for their children. Ladi has a positive message for the youths which I will want them to work on.
Licking or sucking of p*ssy is nonsense and dirtiness. Stop it today
