The mistakes of the referees are an integral part of the football game. The referee is only human and consequently it is normal to make mistakes, but these mistakes are often so striking that they cause some serious speculations whether they were intentional. There are teams that are often mistreated or supported by the decisions of a single referee, which is highly questionable. However, it is difficult to reach a conclusion whether a referee deliberately supports a team. We have prepared a list of 10 memorable referee mistakes in recent years. All of them are shocking.10. The ghost goal at Watford - Reading.
This is an astonishing referee decision at this match, which costed Watford the three points. The ball was not even close to the goal line, but somehow the referee has seen a goal scored. See for yourself:
9. The three yellow cards in the match Australia - Croatia of the World Cup 2006.
Graham Poll created a spectacular blunder at the World Cup in 2006, showing three yellow cards a player before sending him off. Josip Šimunić was the player who remained on the field even after his second yellow card. See this interesting situation:
8. Frank Lampard`s goal against Germany.
In a dramatic clash between England and Germany in the World Cup 2010, Frank Lampard scored an amazing goal, which was mysteriously not awarded. Certainly this referee decision will be long remembered by everyone in Britain.
7. The hand of God episode 2.
Thierry Henry showed that Maradona is not the only one, who can score crucial goals for his team by helping with his hand. Henry even touched the ball twice with his hand before making the vital assist for the equalizer against Ireland. The Irish were definitely the better team on the pitch and that referee mistake cost them the participation in the World Cup 2010. After this huge injustice, even the Minister of Justice of Ireland requested the match to be replayed. Thierry Henry at least showed some dignity admitting the hand ball and apologizing to the Irish.
6. The absurd Nani goal against Tottenham.
The least we can say about this situation is that it is absurd. If in the case of the hand ball of Thierry Henry still the player's dignity can be outlined, as he admitted his mistake, in this situation with Nani no dignity can be found. The effrontery demonstrated by this footballer in the match against Tottenham brings shame even to the fans of his own team. Firstly, Nani simulates a penalty, then catches the ball with his hand. Accordingly, Tottenham goalkeeper prepares to take a foul for Nani touching the ball with his hand, but the the Portuguese stands in front of the ball and kicks it into the opponent's goal. The goal was awarded?? See for yourself:

5. Oscar for Rivaldo.
Speaking of football dignity, we can not pass the efforts of Rivaldo to get among the nominees for an Oscar. Nobody understand how the player managed to deceive the referee to send off a Turkish footballer.
4. The six penalties for Chelsea against Barcelona.
It's rare to see six fine penalties not being awarded in one game. Especially, if all these penalties were for one of the two teams.
3. Italy - Bulgaria.
Countless flagrant violations in the box were not awarded a penalty. When this happens at the semifinals of the World Cup and the harmed team is the formation of a small country like Bulgaria, this evokes strong speculations. Very noted football experts to this day claim that only Bulgaria has had the team that could beat Brazil in the final. We'll never know, because of this unfair referee decision.

2. The best dive of all times.
A comment is totally unnecessary. Emerson Acuna literally meters away from the nearest opponent player fell in the penalty area, for which he was awarded a penalty.
1. The South Korea conspiracy?
Well, no doubt the Italians were supported by the referee in 1994, but in 2002, they were devastated by the referees. Logically the question arose, were all these decisions made to assist one of the tournament`s hosts South Korea? 5 clean goals canceled in 3 consecutive games for Italy. In the match against South Korea there was dubious penalty for the Koreans, cancelled decent Italy goal and instead of awarding a penalty for challenge against Totti in the box, the player received a second yellow card for simulation and therefore got sent off.
Is there deliberate support for South Korea in the match with Italy judge for yourself from the video below, but only look who was the referee of that meeting. Not anyone, but Byron Moreno himself - the controversial Ecuadorian referee, who has a bunch of suspicious matches and numerous suspension. Byron Moreno spent nearly three years in prison, but not for his refereeing, but for heroin smuggling. In 2010 Byron Moreno was caught at an airport in New York, carrying six kilograms of heroin hidden in his pants.
Nobody can deny the serious help South Korea received by the referees at this World Cup. The Portuguese received two red cards in minutes 22 and 27, in their match against South Korea. The quarterfinal match between Spain and South Korea is mildly absurd. The Spanish scored goal after goal, all of which regular, but the referee just did not count them. Spain`s atom attack was not stopped by the opponent`s defence, but by nonexistent offsides and dozens of harsh fouls against the Spaniards remained unseen.
Interesting moments of South Korea matches against Portugal, Italy and Spain.
