I am very surprised to hear about the gas crisis. My friend was just telling me that there was scarcity of gas alongside the fuel scarcity that almost paralysed our economy. You guys wont blame me for not being up to date with the gas situation as its been long i refilled my gas cylinder. I now use Biogas to cook at home, Biogas is gotten from the decomposition of my food leftovers. I am also happy to tell you all that the rate at which Lawma visits my compound has reduced as a sizable portion of my wastes is being recycled to gas. I have also designed a couple of Domestic biogas digesters for my neighbors and they wont stop thanking me. Biogas has all the attributes of LPG gas, only that one is way cheaper than the other. My dream is to make it start running on cars here in Nigeria so we all can be our own government.

Awesome business to be in. Feedstock exists in abundance in Nigeria. We have a culture that generates biodegradables.

For those of you who are interested I will explain how this works so that you can do it yourself. The OP has supplied some pics that will be a good guide for your set-up. First you have to understand that the process of converting waste to biogas is a kind of digestion. You are breaking down the biogas into methane, carbon dioxide and water. The methane can be passed directly into a gas tank which you can use to operate a gas cooker. Also, the methane can be passed through some 'converter' into a generator -as you can see with the two gens the OP has above. It appears the OP is also using the gen to power the digestion process. Which will makes sense since maximum digestion occurs between (90-100) degrees Fahrenheit NOT room temperature. [Convert F to C Using C= (F-32)*5/9].So it appears the OP is using the gens to supply warm water into the waste tank to enhance the digestion process. A complete digestion cycle might take about 20 days depending on how much waste you have and the nature of the waste.
