Unsecure Nation but some Governors get 2billion Naira a Month as Security Vote ! while 18k is minimum wage ! Mtchew ! Nonsense ! What is Security Vote ?

"The idea of handing millions of naira to unaccountable politicians, in the name of addressing security problems, is a recipe for pervasive corruption.

The use of security votes offers a virtual carte blanche to the country’s President as well as state governors to squander billions of naira in state allocations without scrutiny, accountability and without providing ‘security’ for anyone save the executive’s pockets and/or their bank accounts" - 9jabook.com

Re: Monthly/ Yearly "Security Votes" Appropriation Of State Governors by Nobody: 10:53pm On Jun 08, 2015
@Those that may not understand. The so-called "Security vote" is an opportunity for Governors to enrich themselves. The FG statutorily fund Police and the armed forces, most of these monies end up in the pocket of the Governor and his friends. They do NOT ACCOUNT for security vote money, and they don't joke with it.

In other words, it's a defacto FREE money

A nice thread where APC and PDP supporters can at least FOR ONCE agree with Barcanista's research. To think that the states that are massively owing civil servants receive millions monthly. Kai!!!!!! Cc: lalasticlala

this thing really needs to be scrapped since the security forces are financially handled by the federal Govt.

.

Surprising enough even at the Local Govt level you get to hear of Security vote.

and this is one of the reasons I don't believe any governor that says there's no money.
there are too many loopholes in this country through which our leaders can steal money and until we block those loopholes, real development may just be a mere wishful thinking for we the citizens.

- Rotimi Amaechi, Tunde Fashola, Areggbesola and the other progressive governors, how much are your cut from the state monthly allocation in the name of "Security Votes"?

Can you all publish accountably how you allocate this votes?

Until Nigerians rise to stop this FRAUD, the criminals called leaders will continue to ride us. angry

These money should be dedicated to job creation and empwering youths.

Do you know that if we had Youwin in every state and these security votes are used to fund it, our unemployment rate in the country would tremendously drop?

Add up all these money and see that it will add up to to at least 200 billion, compare it to the 15 billion spent by FG on youwin annually, can you see the big difference?

Nigerian leaders and Nigerians generally need to save this country from collapse and slow pace of development caused by excessive greed
