Tension In Lautech, As Student Slumps While Playing Football. by Hardeydamola(m): 10:52am On Jun 10, 2015
Students of Ladoke Akintola University of technology took to the streets of Lautech to protest, over the death of a fellow colleague.
The victim was said to have died as a result of negligence of duty by workers of the school health centre facility after he slumped without contact at Lautech International College field just less than 5 minutes in to play as he was introduced as central defender in a match between 400level and 300level students of the department of Chemical engineering.

The vicitim identified to be Fatai is a part 4 student of Chemical Engineering (CHE) was said to be perfectly alright as he was introduced to the match but report reaching us suggests he was short of air before he collapsed.
The management was to blame because the unconscious victim was rushed down to the school health centre, yet he wasn’t attended to in time as the Nurses begin to demand for his health centre card while the victim was in a really bad condition and when they finally decided to attend to him the Clinic lacked the facilities to counter the victims ailment it was also reported that the clinic was not able to provide boast oxygen mask or any required first aid.

Angry and bereaved Ladokites trooped out and matched down to the senate building in a protest against predatory medical practices. Ladokites feel It was expected of the Clinic management, to have attended to the poor victim since it was an emergency after which they can begin to ask several other questions.
The blame is therefore on the School management for nuturing health workers with carefree attitude to the well being of students to occupy important positions in the healthcare centre.

Unfortunately it was visible even to the blind the obvious disappointment of the crowd in the enigmatic President SOLACE who they feel was clueless through out as they all opined to doing it the U.I way.

“Rugged Aluta through out” Notably that was the way the Student of the University of Ibadan acted when a similar fiasco occurred in the alma matter sometimes last year.

We all feel the student might not have died if the health Centre had taken proactive measures.

Our reporters present famously gathered the headlining Comment of Comrade E-queen who said ‘You guys should calm down Its only one student that died’ what a world just one student.

This non-challant attitude was said not to have being the first time at the school’s health centre.

We at Lautech Olofofo together with fellow Ladokites says No to Predatory Medical practices.

Every Ladokite paid the health centre due and such should by right be entitled to quality health Center services. If the health Center cannot care for us then they should stop existing since they know look useless to the cause they were created for.
