Osinbajo Locked Out Of Buhari’s Security Meeting Second Time In 2 Weeks by papaejima1: 7:34pm On Jun 10, 2015 |
By Kayode Sesan All appears not to be smooth between President Muhammadu Buhari and his Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as it relates to national security matters. President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday met behind closed doors with some security chiefs to marshal the country’s plans that will be presented at a meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission in Abuja on Thursday. Vice President Osinbajo was conspicuously absent at this meeting. National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki (retd.); Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu; Chief of Defence Staff, Air Chief Marshal Alex Badeh; and Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Usman Jibrin attended the meeting held inside the Defence House in Abuja. According to a state house correspondent who spoke to BREAKING TIMES on Wednesday, this is the second time Vice President Osinabjo will be “denied access” into a strategic security briefing with the President. “Normally, the Vice President should be part of these inauguarl security briefings because he is the second in command and will deputise for the President in his absence. His absence two times in a row is not healthy at this early stage of their working relationship. We don’t actually know what is going on”, the source said. Last week Wednesday, June 3rd 2015, Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo was reportedly ‘locked out’ of President Muhammadu Buhari’s meeting with the National Security Adviser on the orders of President Buhari. According to reports, Vice-President Osinbajo was refused ‘security clearance’ to attend the meeting as a result of security concerns by the Commander-in-Chief allegedly over what he described as a “very sensitive meeting.” Permanent Secretary at Nigeria’s Ministry of Defence, Ismail Aliyu briefed State House correspondents at the end of today’s meeting, which lasted less more than two hours. He said they discussed issues relating to the operationalisation of the Multinational Joint Task Force and the contributions of each member state. He said the President, at the meeting, reiterated his desire to end insurgency in the country and the region in shortest possible time. Aliyu said, “We came to brief Mr. President on the meeting of the Lake Chad Basin Commission. President Buhari appears not to be the only one undermining the office of the Vice President. Newly elected Senate President, Bukola Saraki shunned a truce meeting called on Monday by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Senator Saraki boycotted the meeting after reportedly telling party leaders that as a former governor he could not attend a meeting summoned by a ‘mere commissioner’, referring to Professor Yemi Osinbajo, whose previous public office was as Commissioner of Justice in Lagos State. http://www.thebreakingtimes.com/osinbajo-locked-out-of-buharis-security-meeting-second-time-in-2-weeks/ |

Mere commissioner Osunbade the midget reduced to tissue paper. Another of Tinubu's puppet in trouble Next time Igbos tell Yorubas to look before leaping when it comes to supporting muslim northerners in politics against a southerner (who is not even Igbo), perhaps they would have learned their lesson then. For now I pray Buhari continues to dismantle all of Tinubu's plans = SW plans. Since you ngbatis betrayed your southern brothers, may your northern masters betray you. Amen. 39 Likes 2 Shares |

This can't be true, otherwise it is really unacceptable. If it is, we should be scared about the country's future. I refuse to believe it for now. 1 Like |

Osibanjo's case will be worse than GEJ under turai yar'adua. He is too naive to play national politics. A mere commissioner is a nobody in the Great Saraki Dynasty!!! 16 Likes |

My fellow Nigerians, its too early to cause a friction between the President and his VP. Professor Osinbajo is an intelligent man but not a politician. The manner he was disrespected by Senator Saraki shows that he will be treated as Tinubu boy. This is not good for our democracy and present administration. The office of the Vice President must be respected. 4 Likes |

JohnnySins: Sambo's own wasn't up to this extend, at least GEJ still allow sambo to partake in meeting like this. What i can't wrap my head over is, Buhari locking out the VP on such important matter. This is what happens when Godfather ism, is allow in politics. I' m sensing Buhari wasn't comfortable with Osibanjo nomination, but he accepted it with grudges, so he will not be labelled as intolerant. See how Buhari is treating him like a " mere commissioner". 13 Likes |

This Breaking times of a thing want to replicate Sahara reporters but unfortunately they are nowhere Sahara standard, all they publish is mere rumours without any back up. I wonder how some citizens think, praying for failure of your govt in order to justify ur position. election time is over, President Buhari will be the president for the next four years and his success in office will directly or indirectly affect everyone while his failure will have same effect. we all know that Vice-president, deputy governor are just for decoration unless d chief executive is magnanimous enough to polish it. I believe Osinbajo will play vital roles in this administration especially when it comes to education, justice and foreign affairs but he's a novice when it comes to security and this might explain why he's absent in these meetings. 3 Likes |

Osinbajo is a Vice President for crying out loud and he it is not mandatory for him and the President to be attending to the same issues at the same time. They have different issues under their control and unless he was invited to the meeting he will not be there. 4 Likes |
