Political reason? - there is no Country in the world where you will not find corruption, some are just more slick and discreet about theirs, worry about the shame and disgrace of doing it publicly like Nigeria

You mean, applying for asylum in another country?
You would need to answer their questions regarding fear of being persecuted. By the way, asylum applications can't be 'faked' like other visa applications. Unlike applying for a visa to study or work (or every other category), all agencies approving asylum applications have knowledge of "countries' conditions" and whether political, religious or any other unrest exists in that country, or for the person/group seeking asylum. Making up a story of persecution will not fly.
