Mr. Jonah Otunla, the Accountant General of the
Federation was yesterday June, 12, 2015 relieved of his
duties.
The Office of the Accountant General of the Federation
(AGF) confirmed the removal of Otunla as Accountant and
the appointment of Mr. Mohammed Dikwa, as Acting
Accountant General.
Mr. Otunla was said to have been removed from office
because he allegedly misappropriated N2.5 billion of security
agencies’ funds.
A statement from the Office of the AGF late Friday, said
President Muhammadu Buhari approved the change, which
takes immediate effect.
The statement said Dikwa would fill the position until a
substantive replacement was announced.
Before being appointed the Acting Accountant General,
Mr. Dikwa was the Director, Funds Department in the
Office of the Accountant General of the Federation, the
statement said.
Mr. Dikwa who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Accountancy also has a Master in Business Administration
and Finance.
He had attended the Senior Executive Course 34, 2014 at
the National Institute of for Policy and Strategic Studies
(NIPSS), Kuru. He was awarded Certificates in Public
Finance Management Reforms, Leadership and Governance,
High Performance Leadership Programme and Treasury
Management at the Harvard University USA, University of
Cambridge, Oxford University UK and Thames Valley
University UK respectively. Mr. Dikwa is a Fellow Certified
National Accountant and Fellow Charted Institute of
Taxation of Nigeria, among others.
He has facilitated and attended many Courses, Workshops
and Seminars, the statement said.

Premiumtimes,a reliable news medium said he was retired.
Nothing was mentioned of any sack or scandal.
Come to think of it;PMB would not just approve the sack of anyone without that person haven't been invited by the efcc or icpc first.There is nothing like that on the frm AGF.
