Going through one of the national dailies i was surprised to see that we now have a bishop of the whole world in nigeria! these few days i have been away, many things have happened in the mother-land that is intriguing. the roman catholics claim that the pope is the number christian in the world, we all tolerate that, but this is new to me.

Is this saint in warri delta state head of the pope; can a living person claim sainthood; is this in line with scriptures; or it is the spirit of error?

Maybe u should first define sainthood or saint(s) from the bible because I see u ask:"Can a living person claim sainthood?"

As for the rest of the post,there is nohing like Bishop of the whole world and there is nothing like no. 1 Christian in the world.

According to the bible,a saint is simply a believer.So, living people can be saints.

Because we are not asked to in the bible.Just like we are not supposed to put Pastor this or Pastor that in any ministers' names.
Being a saint is a state and not a title.The term Pastor is not a title as is being used widely today,but rather,it is a position of authority/responsibility in the church.
In the Christian world,we are to be addressed simply by our names or with the use of brother or sister.
There isn't any point in the bible that any of the people of God were addressed as Pastor this,Prophet that,or apostle this and that.
Or saint this or that.
