By Shina Oludare
Nigeria U20 women team are expected to depart the shores of the country on Wednesday with a 27-person delegation for Liberia. They will fly through Accra and Abidjan before setting out to Monrovia.
The delegation includes 18 players and nine officials as the team will face the Liberia female team for a place at the 2016 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup billed for Papua New Guinea.
Despite reports of a fresh outbreak of Ebola virus disease in the west African country, the Confederation of African Football has opted not to move the match to a neutral venue.
Caf has appointed Aissatou Inter Keita of the Republic of Guinea as referee for the match billed for the Antoinette Tubman Stadium on Sunday.
She will be assisted by compatriots Fantagbe Kaba, Manty Keita and Isatou Touray as assistant referee1, assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively. The match commissioner is Fatou Camara from Mali.
The winner of the fixture will proceed to the third round of qualifiers, to play the winner of the Namibia/DR Congo fixture.

Papua New Guinea 2016 Qualifier: Falconets Defy Ebola, off to Monrovia

BY EMMA NJOKU
Despite reports of fresh outbreak of the Ebola virus, Nigeria’s Falconets will today fly out of the country for this weekend’s 2016 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup second round, first leg qualifying match against their Liberian counterparts.
According to Thenff.com, head coach, Peter Dedevbo, 18 players and eight other officials will fly through Accra and Abidjan before arriving in Monrovia, the capital of Liberia, on Friday for the game scheduled for Sunday at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium, starting at 4pm.
The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, had requested that the game be moved to a neutral venue following the report of fresh outbreak of the dreaded Ebola virus disease in the West African country, but the Confederation of African Football, CAF, did not grant the request. Only last weekend, Liberia’s senior national team, Lone Star, hosted Guinea in a 2016 African Nations Championship qualifier, which ended 1-1.
Meanwhile, CAF has appointed Aissatou Inter Keita of the Republic of Guinea as referee for the match.
She will be assisted by compatriots, Fantagbe Kaba, Manty Keita and Isatou Touray as assistant referee1, assistant referee 2 and reserve referee respectively while Fatou Camara from Mali will be the match commissioner.
The winner of the fixture will play the winner of the Namibia/DR Congo fixture in the third round of the qualifiers.

Yetunde Adeboyejo's hat-trick and Amarachi Ojinma's brace gives the Falconets a wide lead ahead of the return leg in a fortnight in Nigeriam

Chinwendu Ihezuo and Juliet Sunday were also on the scorer's sheet.

With this heavy defeat, I don't see the Liberians coming for the return leg.

Falconets Overthrow Liberia 7-1 in Monrovia

Coach Peter Dedevbo’s girls began their chase for a World Cup ticket on a brilliant note as they blew aside their hosts before their home fans
By Shina Oludare

Falconets
Liberia U20 Women team got spanked by their Nigerian opponent 7-1 in the second round first leg qualifier played at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia on Sunday.
A hat-trick from Yetunde Adeboyejo, a brace from Amarachi Orjinma plus goals from Chinwedu Ihezuo and Juliet Sunday were all the Falconets needed to tear apart their hosts in the one-sided affair.
Falconets got an early lead through Adeboyejo in the third minute as her strike partner Ihezuo doubled the lead on the hour mark.
Adeboyejo netted her second and Nigeria’s third nine minutes before half time, but the Liberians pulled one back on the stroke of the half time.
Shortly after Yetunde’s treble early in the second half, Juliet Sunday got her side’s fifth goal in the 70th minute, while Ojinma’s late double gave coach Dedevbo’s ladies a massive boost heading into the second leg in Nigeria in two weeks’ time.
The winner of the fixture will proceed to the third round of qualifiers, to play the winner of the Namibia/DR Congo fixture for a place at the 2016 Fifa U20 Women’s World Cup billed for Papua New Guinea.

Haba. U are are wicked o grin

So after hammering them 7 goals at home, you still want them to go back to their various houses empty handed. grin

At least the solitary goal will give them d hope of turning the table around when they come around 4 d return leg. grin

But on a serious note, I will be very very surprised if they show up 4 d return leg.

I was also surprised that Dedevbo wasn't promoted. The dude is way more tactically advanced than Okon. However, Danjuma is only the interim coach as the NFF are about to hire a Dutch woman for the post.

South Africa’s Basetsana look set to compound the woes of regional rivals, Botswana in Gaborone whilst the Young Gladiators of Namibia have a mountain to climb against DR Congo in Windhoek after a 4-0 loss from the first leg in Kinshasa.

Too bad they eventually came; only to go bck with a basket full of goals.

Their coach even boosted dat we will find it tough when we play them in two years time...He/she must be a learner.

It took d Ghanians, Cameroonians, South Africans and Equatorial Guineans about a decade to come close to us. Dat she wants to achieve in 2 years?

She must be high on some cheap ebola infested weed.

That aside, I am worried we will be going 4 our return leg in Bata without about 5 of our best players.

So sad we are on verge of not qualifing again 4 d Olympics.

AF Nigeria Nigeria - Women:
Rinsola Babajide Shines Again in Millwall Big Win

Rinsola Babajide goes for goal for Millwall Ladies.
Nigerian youngster Rinsola Babajide sealed a second FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup victory for Millwall Lionesses as they overcame Watford Ladies 4-2 after an eventful second half.
The 16-year-old Babajide came off the bench and wrapped things up with a terrific solo effort in added time.
She has now scored three goals for Millwall Ladies this season.
It was Ashlee Hincks who opened the scoring with a speculative long-range effort that deceived goalkeeper Trippoli Witney and squirmed into the net.
Stacie Donnelly came closest to equalising with a beautiful strike from distance five minutes before half-time, forcing Frankie Gibbs into a clever save.
But the Millwall strikers doubled the advantage as the match moved into first-half injury time, with Hincks powering through the Watford midfield then laying it off to Fliss Gibbons, who curled an impressive shot into the top corner.
Watford got a goal back in the 55th minute, when Anneka Nuttall rising brilliantly to head home a corner.
That only spurred the visitors on, with Ciara Sherwood winning a corner just before the hour mark, and Dionne Lennon netted firmly from the resulting cross.
The match was marred 15 minutes from time by a leg injury to Millwall’s Jordon Butler, who was helped off the pitch by her team-mates, before Donnelly grabbed a goal back for Watford almost immediately after the restart.
Another Nigerian, Adekite Fatuga Dada, played the full game for Watford Ladies.
