It was a soft work for the Spanish. they are an attacking team with tiki taka complete possessing football. With what i saw, they will loss concentration and be exposed if they engage a very fast and more physical team.

IN NUMBERS: FLAMINGOES AT THE FIFA U17
WOMEN'S WORLD CUP

Goal chronicles the key numbers that have
marked the country’s participation at the biennial world football fiesta.

SPECIAL By Shina Oludare
.

As the Nigeria U17 women march to their fifth
appearance at the Fifa U17 Women’s World Cup
in Jordan, Goal gives an account of the
Flamingoes in the competition’s history in
numbers.

0 - The number of titles won by Nigeria at this
championship.

2 - The number of games Nigeria have lost in four Fifa U17 World Cup tournaments. The Flamingoes have won nine games while they have secured a draw four times.

2 - Colombia is the country to have faced Nigeria at this level of competition on most occasions with the Flamingoes triumphing on both occasions.

3 - This number represents the most goals
conceded in a single match by Nigeria at the
mundial. The Flamingoes first let in this in their
3-3 draw against South Korea [lost 6-5 on
penalties] in the quarter-final of the 2010 edition in Trinidad and Tobago.

5 - Most goals scored by a Nigerian U-17 player in a single game. Chinwendu Ihezuo achieved this feat at Azerbaijan 2012.

6 - Most goals scored by a Nigerian in a single
tournament. This feat was achieved by Chinwedu Ihezuo at the 2012 edition staged in Azerbaijan. This achievement got her the silver boot award of the same tournament.
Chinwedu Ihezuo is the only Nigerian with
most goals in a single competition

11 - This also represents the most goals scored in
a single match by Nigeria at the mundial. At
Azerbaijan 2012, Nigeria silenced the hosts 11-0
with Ihezuo Chinwendu scoring five times at the
Lankaran Stadium.

15 - The number of games Nigeria have played at
the Fifa U17 Women's World Cup, making them
the African team with the highest number of
matches in the history of the competition.

22 - The number of seconds it took Soo
Adekwagh to score Nigeria’s fastest goal in the
competition’s history. She achieved this feat with
her strike on October 30, 2008 against South
Korea at the Wellington Stadium. She not only
netted the fastest goal in the history of the U-17
Women's World Cup, but in any Fifa women's
competition.

30 - On October 30, 2008, Nigeria won her first
game in the competition’s history in New Zealand
after defeating South Korea 2-1 at the Wellington
Stadium, with Soo Adekwagh and Amenze
Aighewi finding the back of the net while Ji So-
Yun got the consolation for the Asians.

39 - The total number of goals Nigeria have
scored in all Fifa U17 Women’s World Cups which
makes them the best African team in the football
showpiece in terms of attacking prowess, they
have conceded 16 goals in the same number of
outings.

30,250 - This is the record number of spectators
to watch a Flamingoes game in the World Cup.

This was set on September 22, 2012 in Nigeria's
1-1 draw versus Canada in a group game at the
Tofiq Bahramov Stadium, Baku.

It seems that cameroonian team is very good, they also walloped Brazil by 2goals to nothing. They may be the golden generation for the camerounian senior women team.

Which local stations going to broadcast the matches?

Nigeria U17s Train At Match Venue Ahead Brazil Tie, Skipper Rasheedat Faces The Media
[/size]

Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that Nigeria’s U17 Women’s National Team, better known as the Flamingoes, had their final training session on Friday afternoon ahead of Saturday’s showdown with Brazil.

Today’s workout was held at the King Abdullah Stadium, Amman, venue of the meeting between the two continental powerhouses, started at 1530 hours local time and lasted for one hour.

There are no injury worries in the Nigeria U17s camp, with all the 21 players participating in full training.

FC Robo sensation Rasheedat Ajibade and coach Bala Nkiyu were picked to face the media in the mandatory press conference .

Nigeria and Brazil battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw when both countries faced off in the maiden edition of the tournament in 2008, with Ebere Orji and Amarachi Okoronkwo on song for the Africans.

Very disappointed in Cameroon, they should have won their match if not for poor defending.

As a fan u could not even enjoy that game becos the ref stopped for any contact. I feel bad for our girls, people might see this as just sore losing but i knw wen somebody is being cheated.

It was especially difficult to play in the second half. The Brazilians were buoyed by the ref and went full on with theatrics. Even very clean tackles earned our girls yellow card, depending on how loud the Brazilians shouted.
I think the England game should be better because surely someone in FIFA will notice this. Also, European female refs seem to be racists whenever they are officiating against African teams. This is not the first time.

Today we go again. England vs Nigeria.
I expect the game to be physical, so it comes down to the officiating. I watched Cameroon vs Venezuela yesterday and the ref was unkind to the Cameroonians. I expect us to get the same treatment today and we may be out of the tournament before 4pm today.
Whichever way it goes, its been a good exposure for the gals. FIFA is not Africa friendly when it comes to women competition. Its like a cult.

Of a truth, this is what l hate about the south american style of football, but then l still blame our girls for their lack of tactics. If they were more tactically aware they would have frustrated the Brazilians with more accurate passing and possessive football (yes it was possible). My major concern here is how we play as well as our creativity, l know that Rasheedat and Cynthia can take their chances, but sometimes the midfield is where a game is usually lost or won. I wish Naija good luck and all the best.

Absolute dominance but no goals. The commentator said if you give Nigeria extra 200 minutes, they may create 100 chances and not score any. There was no input from the coach, the girls were doing their own thing and taking wayward shots.

hmmm... Permutation things as usual...
32shots and no goal. Really pathetic.

Though 'vn't watch any of their games so far. This is what you get when you decide to stick to physicality @ world competitions instead of going for technically sound players. Until we understand that africa championships defers from world cups we shouldn't be expecting anything new.

I just hope de can scale tru the group stage.

No physicality about this we were the only team that could have won that match. Our defense was rock solid especially Kenneth #5, our striker was the best player on the pitch the commentator said it like 10xs. We were just uptight with our backs already being against the wall. At the end of the day they are 16 and 15 yr old girls, one thing i don't like is that our girls don't take fluids, it is too hot to be forming superman.
