Em sorry but during OBJ tenure as president there wasn't such a thing like terrorism.

What was en vogue was Oga Jona's illiterate boys making fools of themselves and OBJ dealt with them.
Obj dealt with them and Yaradua had to bribe them with amnesty package? Ask Obj what was our revenue that period and how many IOCs shut down production

All the same, the NSA and defense ministers during OBJ's tenure weren't receiving such huge lumps of cash as we've seen now!.

Why would they launch a bid that would be doomed to failure?

How would you know a bid is doomed for failure if you have credible OVERSIGHT evidence of misdeeds?

How will there be a RECORD of your 'progressive stance for accountability', if you do NOT make the bid?

The Daura Dogo Yaro obviously does not think like you otherwise he would not have APPLIED four times to a job that he FAILED thrice to get, not so

Our democracy & society will NOT move forward if we all remain focused solely on the president.

Peace!!!

Could be true, which is why the West are often the the spark behind most African wars. Maybe Africa has learned that trick at last and so now Terrorism is the market force of choice to get us spending that money and help oil the wheels of capitalism. In any case, if an African nation like Nigeria with all her potential in human and natural resources is so bereft of ways of industrializing we resort to wanting to merge currencies with our fleabag neighbors, then maybe we deserved being turned into fodder for the machine.

Peace is very crucial to the survival of any nation. They have however turned Nigeria into a looting field, by not using the security vote for what it is meant for. It was frittered away with nothing to show for it. Yes, nothing! Nigerian politicians are largely corruption laden.
Thank God for change. I believe normalcy will be restored now.

Typical.

Jonathan's admin was nothing but a free for all looting frenzy by the hawks in Abuja. He condoned, excused and promoted corruption within his household, cabinet and beyond. Depending on how big what you steal was, you stood a chance to be awarded a national honour and a presidential handshake thanking you for a job well done.

This info gives an insight into why defence contractors, people at the top of the food chain in the military, and some politicians would do virtually anything to ensure Boko Haram is never completely eliminated
.

Only time will tell.

The military top brass were buying old and refurbished weapons dating back to biafra-war era for a modern day Nigerian military while embezzling billions for personal use.

The services chiefs were exploiting the culture of corruption engendered by GEJ government.

Blame GEJ, PEJ and PDP for evils committed against Nigeria.

When last was there major arms purchases for the Nigerian military Most likely during Shagari/ Buhari's time. How many years ago was that? The entire Armed Forces were starved of funding. Obj purchased the Mi34/35 helicopter gunships and the reet were purchased by the GEJ govt. It's not easy starting from scratch. Think deep guys and do your research before commenting.

I wish President Buhari would borrow a leaf from President Xi Jiping of China on how to tackle corruption without sentiments or intimidation. Corrupt politicians and public office holders should be arrested, prosecuted and sentenced to prison for their crimes; and all the properties confiscated as is currently being done in China. Not long ago, one of China's wealthiest men, his brother and a few of their croonies were sentenced to death for gross corruption, money laundering, racketeering, operating illegal casinos amongst other crimes. A few days back, its former chief of security bureau was sentenced to life in prison. We need such harsh measures to serve as deterrents to corrupt minded politician and public office holders. Nigerians are tired of hearing how billions and sometimes trillions of Naira was misappropriated by some bloody government official(s). We are tired of it! It's painful to the souls of ordinary citizens like you and I. Nigerians are dying while crossing the desert to Libya. Those who were lucky to survive the desert end up drowning in the Mediterranean. Why would people risk their lives on such perilous journeys? The answer is because they've lost hope in this once great nation. I remember this one time a Korean supervisor at a jeans making factory asked me why there were lots of hardworking Nigerians in Korea considering Nigeria has lots of natural resources while South Korea practically has none? He had the answer ready even before I opened my mouth to lecture him on the corruption on cataclysmic proportion going on in Nigeria. He said " Corruption is Nigeria's biggest problem." Corruption has been our nation's Achilles heel. Corruption is the reason we don't have constant electric supply. It's the reason we don't have good roads, schools, hospitals, houses etc. It's the reason there's no security of lives and properties in Nigeria. The societal ills that corruption births are innumerable. But they can be tackled and stamped out through firm and decisive actions by the person at the helm of a nation's affairs. In the case of Nigeria, President Buhari is at the helm of our country's affairs, I pray he does the needful with regards to tackling corruption. I pray he empowers the judicial arm of government to arrest, prosecute and jail past and present politicians /public officers holders. Anything short of this would be a failure to his administration. Nigerians are fed up. We need true and meaningful changes in Nigeria.

most of the money were pocketed by the top military guys...

Within the period under review (2011- 2015), the Office of the National Security Adviser got a capital allocation of N240billion while the Defence Ministry got N206billion making the capital allocations to the Office of the National Security Adviser higher than that allocated to the entire Defence Ministry, which includes the Army, Navy and Airforce....

The F7s were bought before 2011 by Obj too. Very sure of that.

The infographics is also missing a few other assets and hardwares bought.
Agreed for a probe nonetheless. The collosal sums expended on security does not tally with the equipment bought. Example was the failed monumental Arthur Eze's fighter jet scam!

Okay! That was the reason behind STEALING OF PUBLIC FUND IS NOT FINANCIAL CORRUPTION. Dr. Ebelechukwu Azikwe Goodluck Jonathan and his goons in the Poverty Distributing Party truely did a great "transformation to our treasury" Never again shall my vote be based on tribal, regional & religious sentiment.
