Very contradictory.

Whatever was done by any statutory member of the executive wing including the ADC was done by the presidency. The presidency is personally responsible for all actions taken by the folks he put in place to serve him.

You honestly think the ADC came up with the decision about the president's safety and security without the president's and the NSA's knowledge?


The fact that the directive stands, unchallenged and not taken back by the NSA which the DSS functions under and the president himself should tell you that the order came from the very top and not necessarily the ADC..


Constitutionally prescribed responsibility of the DSS includes taking orders from the commander in chief as stated by the DSS itself so what's your point..

You are missing it by wrongly assuming that the military is superior to the DSS or any law enforcement agency for that matter. Each agency has its specialised role and none is superior to another. It's better you don't delve into "an unfamiliar terrain than mis-inform people ". For your information, the Instrument No 1 that confers power of VIP protection know DSS originated from General Abdulsalam Abubakar, when he was military Head of State, before it became a law by an act of the parliament in 2004! For a military President to give such powers to DSS speaks volumes. The directive by the ADC suggests two things; it's either he is ignorant or he is acting a script. I will go for the latter though. It want to believe the ADC is acting a script and working under the instructions of some powerful forces. Or how do you explain having military personnel as Presidential bodyguards in a democratic government, which has never happened before? That might be setting the stage for the unimaginable. We all know what the military is capable of.

The military is the only security organisation the can operate within and outside the borders of any country, as Police, Guards, Secrete service and armed forces.

That is why the President is also the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces.

Op, I'm sorry I disagree with some parts of the article.
The ADC has no power to do what he did, he was acting on the instructions of his boss. Who gives a lieutenant colonel power to deploy troops to the.presidential suite, is that not done by the Army high command ?
This crass show and total disregard for our constitution was done by a man who wants to destroy what we have been building for 16 years. BUHARI IS NOT A DEMOCRATIC LEADER AND THIS ACTION SHOWS WHERE WE ARE HEADED.
