Rumor: New Details On Psp-4000 by Infoseye(m): 10:34am On Mar 04, 2009
The rumors just keep coming in. This time Eurogamer has released details according to their "development source close to Sony", about the Sony's newest iteration of the PSP handheld. Their source says that the PSP-4000 will bring with it a major cosmetic overhaul by adding a sliding screen that would cover the face buttons. And also the removal of the UMD drive, much like the previous comments of Perry's about his time with this rumored new PSP.

Eurogamer was told that "The screen is basically the same as the one in the 3000 - except it slides." And also that when in the closed state, which we can only guess is when the screen is slid down, that the screen will cover most but not all of the handheld's face leading it to be "significantly smaller in width."

While closed the main controls will be inaccessible, but the shoulder buttons will still be able to be used for media playback and for games that focus only on on them, such as the PSP title, LocoRoco. The anonymous source says Sony is in look for ideas by developers for games that would only require the use of the shoulder buttons.

No word from Sony yet on this rumored PSP-4000, but time will tell as this next PSP is said to release later this year according to the speculation.

Guys what do you think about this if sony release a handheld game like this its gonna be the boom, commented
