Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos state, has raised alarm of phony activities executed by fraudsters
posing to be him.

According to the governor, some impostors are impersonating him via various social media platforms to
defraud innocent Nigerians, Punch reports.

In a statement by his chief press secretary, Habib Aruna, the governor said some fake characters were
attempting to capitalise on his goodwill to deceive members of the public, particularly his associates.
The governor said he was briefed on the activities of the fraudsters by his associates, who added that
there has been a rapid proliferation of his identity in the cyberspace under different platforms, especially on
social media with intent to defraud Nigerians.

Ambode alleged that a faceless character, who currently operates with the e-mail: a_ambode@yahoo.com , has been going about soliciting CVs from his friends and acquaintances with
a promise to offer them appointments.

He added that there were multiple identities these faceless persons operating on Facebook with his name
and photographs.

The governor, however, warned Nigerians to disregard any offer from these deceitful characters, calling on
the public to report such fraudsters to the law enforcement agencies.
He noted that he would work to ensure that those behind the despicable act are caught and made to face
the wrath of the law.

If not for corruption and moral decadence, why would a governor of a state collect bribe in return for contract, if we award contracts based on credibility and not man know man basis, these scams wouldn't work

Time to CHANGE corruption must end
