What will you do if your new book sells one million copies in two months?
Lest we forget, no Nigerian writer has achieved this feat.
To be the author of a bestselling new book selling one million copies within months has not been achieved by any Nigerian writer in the history of Nigerian literature.

In fact, none of the new books by the most popular ministers of the largest churches in Africa's most populous country has ever sold up to one million copies in three months.
When I worked for a while for Redemption Light, the official magazine of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), the biggest and largest pentecostal church in the world, the monthly magazine did not sell up to 100, 000 copies.
Why?
Nigerians don't read books and magazines.
They prefer idle chats and gossip and that is why they also prefer reading gossip magazines. Therefore, it will be breaking news for a new book by a Nigerian writer to sell one million copies in two months!
Wow!
Can it happen?
Yes.
When can this happen? Now! Because with the popularity of social media with more than 67 million Nigerians on the internet and more than 148 million Nigerian users of GSM phones, a new Nigerian book can sell more than one million copies within months.
How can this happen through social media publicity campaign with the right marketing strategy?
Planning the social media campaign with the right marketing strategy can make it happen.

Now what have you gained, sir, from this insult? Kindly apologise to the OP, he'll forgive you.

And people like us would appreciate your wise contribution without having to read tribalistic stuff like the above bolded quotation.

Thanks.

I think Sir Chinua Achebe (RIP), with his Things Fall Apart, had the greatest achievement in the history of African literature.

The novel was first published in 1968. Now, Achebe died in 2013; if we take out the year the book was published from the year the author died, we'll have 45 years.

To continue the calculation; if we have 12 in a year, then surely we'll have 12*45 in forty-five years. That would give us 540 months!

If the target is a million copies in two months, then we'll have 1'000'000*(540/2).

Mathematically, that is 1'000'000*270 = 270'000'000 copies.

Logically, if Achebe's books has sold over a total of 270'000'000 in 2013. Then Achebe has broken the record.

But I don't know how many copies the book has sold so far.
