Worried by the reports of some missing parts of the body of a 53years old dead woman, Deaconess Ebun Gbiri at the mortuary in Ondo state specialist hospital, the state government has inaugurated a seven man panel of enquiry to probe the incident. The panel has two weeks to complete the assignment, and recommend sanction to forestall future occurrences to the state government. Late Deaconess Gbiri had taken ill and th family rushed her to the ondo state specialist hospital in akure for proper medical check up only for her to die while on admission. After her death, her corpse was deposited at the mortuary only for the family to discovered some parts of her body were missing when they came back to claim the corpse. Controversies trailed the reports despite the explanation given by the state hospital board that RATS INVADED THE MORGUE AND ATE UP THE MISSING PARTS OF THE DECEASED. But the families of the deceased were not convinced and they threatened court action against the authorities of the hospitals. Responding to the public out cry, the state government said the enquiry became imperative following the hard stance of the family of the deceased. The commissioner of health during the inauguration said government had pleaded with the family of the deceased but they were not convnced with the explanation given by the hospital. If it were you, what would be your re-action? |
