And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them (Luke 5:17).

Often times, the power of God is synonymously used in Scripture with the presence of God, and the glory of God, but they don't mean exactly the same thing. For example, when Moses was asked of the Lord to talk to the rock, what God wanted was for His glory to be manifested. Moses, however struck the rock. When he did, the power of God was manifested but the glory of God wasn't, and God reprimanded Moses; He said, "Moses, you didn't glorify me before the people" (Numbers 20:11-12).

Though the power of God was manifested, and water came out of the rock when Moses struck it, the glory of God wasn't there, because Moses acted in disobedience. Always, God wants us to manifest His power and His glory.

The glory is greater than the power because the glory includes, not only the power of God but, the grace and righteousness of God. The glory of God, actually, is the term that encapsulates all of His splendour and His righteousness. God's righteousness is God's glory; He manifests His righteousness in His glory.

Therefore, for those who wonder, "Is it possible for the power of God to be manifested, and the presence of God or the glory of God is not manifested?" The answer is yes, because His power is given to us to use.

In 1 Corinthians 9:18, the Apostle Paul talked about not wanting to abuse his power in the Gospel. He's referring to his authority in the Gospel, which was backed by the power of God: "What is my reward then? Verily that, when I preach the gospel, I may make the gospel of Christ without charge, that I abuse not my power in the gospel." It's therefore possible for someone to misuse the power of God but you can never misuse the glory of God. That's where the difference is. And God always wants us to walk in His glory.

It's like walking in the grace of God and not necessarily walking in the righteousness of God. One can walk and partake of His grace and be doing the wrong thing, but God isn't going to be happy with that. He'd reprimand such a fellow, and expect him or her to repent. To walk in God's power and His glory, you have to walk in His grace and in His righteousness as well; they all go together.
