there're two types: BlackBerry Enterprise Server, and BlackBerry Internet Service. The former integrates into groupware service such as Exchange, Domino etc and pushes your corporate mails to your device. of course, deployment is the responsiblity of your company's IT department.

BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) is obtainable from your phone service provider and pushes your personal mails as well as activating internet service.

I use a BlackBerry Curve 8320 (firmware 4.5) with MTN. On MTN's website in their BlackBerry section is an online BIS activation form. it costs only N5000 per month.

PS: i have suspended my service because MTN is now utter rubbish.

they can connect you for the same N5000/month. the only advantage of buying from them is the phone comes pre-configured with their service books.

just walk into any MTN service center and ask for Blackberry Internet Service.

Where are u located? You might want to contact your wireless carrier to make sure they have the BlackBerry data plan properly provisioned on your cellphone account. Good luck!
