Eczema, also known as Atopic Dermatitis is a skin condition caused by a reaction to a number of other conditions. Eczema may appear as a small blister on the skin that itches badly and contains fluid or as a crusted, thickened plaque of skin. Eczema is not a specific condition; it isa group of related diseases with similar appearance.

There are a number of skin conditions which may cause eczema and it is important to identify them before treatment. Some of them include:



1.Fungal and Bacterial Infections: Such as Staphylococcus Aureus.



2. Irritants: Some substances could act as irritants and cause eczema. Some of them include detergents, disinfectants, soaps or vegetables.



3. Allergens: Allergens like molds, pollens, dust mites and dandruff may also cause eczema break outs.



4. Dairy Products and Foods:

These may include foods like eggs, soy products, nuts and seeds and wheat.



5. Stress: Stress may not directly cause eczema but can worsen the symptoms.



6. Humidity: Extremely hot or cold weather may also cause eczema.



7. Hormones: Eczema may also be caused by changes in hormone levels.

Eczema can however be treated using some very effective natural remediessuch as:



1. Coconut Oil: Coconut oil has the ability to penetrate the skin, going beyond the surface to moisturize the skin and prevent further irritation. Touse coconut oil as a cure for eczema, here is what you should do:


*.Wash your hands with clean water and dry thoroughly then rub some coconut oil on your hands and apply to the affected area. You can do this thrice or more times in the day until you begin to notice significant improvement.



2. Jojoba Oil: A very great alternative to coconut oil is jojoba oil. Jojoba oil is atype of liquid wax that has the ability to penetrate the skin and moisturize the skin. It also contains some fatty alcohols which do not dry out the skin like artificial alcohol such as benzyl alcohol and isopropyl alcohol.

To use Jojoba oil as a natural remedy for eczema, you should follow these steps:

*.Wash your hands thoroughly and dry them up. Pour a little bit of jojoba oilon your palms and use it to gently massage the affected area at least three times daily.



3. Shea Butter: Just like coconut oil and jojoba oil, Shea butter also has a very strong moisturizing effect on the skin and can help to heal and repair skin which may have been damaged by eczema. It can also help to soothe the itching.

To use Shea butter as a natural remedy for eczema, here is what you should do;

*.Melt two tablespoons of Shea butter and add six tablespoons of coconut oiland some lavender oil if you like. Mix it thoroughly and use it to rub the affected area at least three times daily.



4. Oatmeal: Another very effective natural remedy for eczema is oatmeal. Oatmeal contains anti-inflammatory properties and canhelp to soothe the skin from eczema-related discomfort. It also works against itching.

Here is how to use oatmeal as a cure for eczema:

*.Get a cup of oatmeal and a piece of cheesecloth. Pour the oatmeal in the cheesecloth and tie it up securely. Soak the little bundle in your bath water for about ten to fifteen minutes. Use the water to shower or soak yourself in it. Pat yourself dry and apply some moisturizer.



5. Chamomile: Chamomile also containsanti-inflammatory properties. It also contains a natural alcohol, Bisabolol which helps to fight germs and bacteria. Chamomile is commonly used to treat skin related problems such as itching, irritation and inflammation.

To use Chamomile as a cure for eczema, here is what you should do:

*.Get about four tablespoons of dried Chamomile flower and Cheesecloth. Tie up the chamomile flower in the cheesecloth and soak it in your bathwater for about fifteen minutes. Use the water to have your bath and apply moisturizer.



6. Fish Oil: Low rate of essential fattyacids in the body has been fingered asone of the causes of eczema. Increasing the levels of omega-3 and omega-6 essential fatty acids in the body is therefore one of the effective ways to cure eczema naturally. You can choose to take it as a supplement or in liquid form mixed with orange juice.



7. Honey: Honey can help to speed up the eczema healing process due to its anti-inflammatory and anti-microbial contents. For this, you would need original raw organic honey and some bandages. Simply apply the honey on the affected area and use a bandage the tie it up to prevent smearing. Leave for about thirty minutes then wash it off with some water. Pat dry. You should do this thrice in a day for quick results.



8. Cornstarch: Cornstarch is another old and effective remedy for eczema.

To use cornstarch as a remedy for eczema, here is what you should do;

*.Mix some cornstarch with one or two spoons of grape seed oil. Rub on the affected area for a few minutes. Wash off and dry with a clean towel. Apply some moisturizer.



9. French Green Clay: French green clay has rich magnesium, potassium, iron and calcium contents which help torelieve itching and heal the skin from eczema breakouts. It is even more effective when mixed with witch hazel extract.

To use French green clay as a natural remedy for eczema, you should do the following:

*.Mix your witch hazel extract with about half a cup of French green clay to make a paste. Then apply it to the affected area until it dries up. Wash off and dry with a clean cloth then apply moisturizer.



10. Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is so great wit eczema that it can actually provide overnight results for some people. You can either extract some ofthe gel and rub on the affected area or make some of it into juice and drink it.



11. Gotu Kola: Gotu Kola extract can also be applied topically to the affected area or drunk as tea for relief.
