The truth is if you don't have anything meaningful to say then shut the Bleep up.... What's wrong with our mentality sef. Who said we should worship her..... The fact is people go to other countries to study in order to be better taught or sometimes for the fun if it, it has nothing to do with somebody worshipping another and in fact I myself will brag especially now that our universities are full of corrupt practices if I have the opportunity to study in a well equipped and well taught school outside Nigeria. I am not trying to say that we don't have some few good institutions here but until our average school is something to brag of.......at least quit insulting people who send there children outside to be better educated talk less of one who managed to come out with a magnificent result

So ??! They should worship Him cos he went to a foreign university. trash

Seriously, this post doesn't highlight what he can do or not.

His skills were not mentioned, neither was his experience. Going to the UK to study should not be about the job you wanna get, but about the quality of education. We still miss it a lot in this country. it is people like him that will get up there and start worshiping certificates.

@Op Please tell your friend to accept the offer if it is something he loves to do.

You are paid in any workplace according to the value you add or bring to the table. Certificates are just door openers. When any company wants to rate it's staff, MSc is MSc irresprctive of where it is gotten.

An OND just left my firm to another firm where he is earning over 200k, just because he sat down and learnt the Practical side of his profession.

I also know of someone who got a UK masters, and came back to earn peanuts, but today the story is different due to his experience.

Please again and again, experience is very vital, not certificate. Not everyone who gets a foreign masters will earn fat pay, sometimes you get lucky, other times you got to start from somewhere.

Lobátán tinz.

It depends on the course of study. Is the Masters in Street Cleaning or Bush Clearing ?

Again, your degree is not everything, who is the personality behind the degree?

Your worth is not on a piece of paper issue by a UK university! Apply to places that can pay better and you'll get a better pay if you can prove that you are worth more than 50k per month.

The truth be told - There are people without masters or PhD who are making 400k or more per month from working hard.

If his/her mum can hire a flat for 800k, she may as well give the guy a loan of 1m to start something.

Ask Seun, or linda ikeji - they earn based on their idea and not on their degrees and I believe they earn very very well.

Masters in Oil & Gas at this time when oil companies hardly employ new people...Uhhn.
NIGERIA MENTALITY, EVERYBODY WON WORK FOR OIL COMPANY..

I REMEMBER WHEN I FINISH MY SCHOOL ABROAD, I STAY FOR HOUSE WITH NO JOB FOR ABOUT 2YRS IF NOT MORE THAN THAT SELF.

For a job seeker getting an apartment in Abuja for 800K, isn't that foolishness? I've seen people who started life with half of that amount and they're all doing fine now.
Why would u even want to start life in Abuja that is very expensive to live in.

I laugh when I read stuffs like this. I came to Nigeria with high hopes with an Msc from a school in UK.

After turning down a couple of job offer cuz of the ridiculous pay, eventually I settled for a 60k per month offer and build myself up from there.

Right now I can say I'm better off than I was yrs back.

Your choice, your life bro do what u think is right.

One young Nigerian share a sad reality of some Nigerians who travel abroad to study and come back home to a salary that can barely keep you going for a week.

He goes further to talked about a friend who graduated with distinction in Masters from a UK University only for him to be offered a N50,000 a month job when he came back to Nigeria.

ROTFL.

The labour market is saturated.

But if you have got more to offer than what your certificate shows, you will get better jobs.

In Between, N800k for an apartment for a job seeker?

That is the problem.

What happened to self contain apartments for N350k to N450k?

U see. That's d problem! The mum is still renting an 800k apartment for him. A job seeker! They should leave him alone to face reality. He should accept d 50k job and work his way up! That will prepare him for future responsibilities. Life is a b_itch. angry

After graduating with a first class and was hoping my parent will fly me abroad for my masters, to my surprise they said I need to start earning before pursuing any certificate. Reason being that certificates does not put on the table. Wooow! I can't but agree with them after analysing the socio-economic reality of Nigeria.

Nothing but FACT!

My younger sister graduated with a top first class [as a family we dressed to kill on her graduation day] and best graduating student from her faculty here in naija and yet she got a job of same 50k per month, sometimes i see her and feel like crying but that is the true state of our Nation today, forget about skills or experience, anybody of that academic feat deserve a better deal, this is the reason why i support PMB to recover all our stolen wealth in this nation whether by commando style or whatever, we've been robbed so blindly and yet we castigate ourselves instead of putting the blame where it should be. Am still encouraging her to seek a postgraduate scholarship abroad though she has started her masters already here in Nigeria.

Nigeria has raped her citizens of all their dignity and pride, Let's stop consoling ourselves all in the name of it doesn't matter

He got a distinction in uk shouldn't make him expect better pay than those who do their masters here . If someone can get distinction in nigerian And be offered a poor pay then he shouldn't expect better . Getting a degree in University of Ibadan still have more credibility here in Nigeria than some of those UK universities .

Atleast he got an offer. It is somewhere to start from. Its not about the certificate right now but what he can put on the table and the experience he will be getting. Getting the certificate is one thing, practicalizing it is another. Nothing sad about it. Everyone starts from somewhere, I mean, with all my certs, na 5k a month be my first job
