I have a copy of the recommendation and implementing it will change Nigeria for good. The recommendation focused on restructuring the country from what we have it now. The people benefitting from what we have now are those trying to make sure it's not implemented.

Ordinarily, I would not have responded here, but for the long introductory note the writer used as preamble. Adebanjo or Afenifere or Afenifere renewal group or OPC faction of Fasehun or any other group or party using Baba Awolowo name or legacy to survive is just doing that for themselves. Leadership without followers is frustration. As at now, they can only appeal to the mindset of their paymasters and those who are using them at old age giving them money for survival.

They cannot win a ward election. They don't command respect of followership among the people they claim to be representing. They are appealing to other groups to come for patronage. This is frustration.

I pity people from d SW that support Tinubu. This man at one time was advocating for true federalism. When he saw they had chance of geting to Aso rock the tone changed. That is how you know a political jobber. Tinubu has been leading most SWeners blindly and enriching his own pocket. We all know true federalism will solve all the problems facing us. From corruption to deveelopment. By the time ur state can only pay wages according to what u produce u will find people running away from politics cuz then it will be all about work work n work for d people.

Daz when u will see visionary leaders from even outside d country comming home to turn around things for his people.

But if PDP planned to implement the confab report, how will giving all their votes to Saraki and Dogara ensure that would happen? Was Saraki a champion of restructuring at any point in time. Will the duo heading the legislature push the agenda PDP purportedly planned if they won 2015 or they did it to cause confusion.

Make no mistake Buhari has zero power to implement one single dot in the confab report as the president has no input to constitutional review process. At the most he can submit the report for consideration by the house which is what i expected Jonathan to do immediately the conference was completed if he was not baiting Nigerians with the promise to implement it.

Unfortunately and till now the old men in their zealousness which is understandable, failed to see that Jonathan's re-election and confab report implementation have very little relationship if any. Since he failed to carry even his own party along and get a law passed to legalize the conference it because as dead as a cold 'dodo'. The report remains a pile of paper with almost no legal force whatsoever to determine the terms of reference, procedure for consideration of the outcome etc.

What would have happened if Jona won is at most he can present the report whenever he deems fit as there is no law compelling him with a timeline to do so, and the legislature can lawfully throw out the entire report as there is no law that authorized it in the first place but we will be stuck for another 4 years with a rudderless government. I wonder what he was doing with the report for 6 months only to be used as a campaign tool.

Where Afenifere goofed is in not insisting that a draft law be presented by the president and lawfully passed before they can participate. But they went ahead as a spite to the dominant party in power in Western region banking on power of incumbency that has now failed for the first time in Nigeria. If they had that foresight, nobody will be begging on anyone's benevolences to implement anything and nobody will need to use it as a campaign tool as the law will compel whoever won the presidency to present it for consideration to the legislature. I think our Constitution has guidelines for constitutional convention and i think Jonathan knows why he did not follow it's provisions for the conference, and that is 7 billion down the drain.
