In response to this thread on frontage, https://www.nairaland.com/2475567/oby-ezekwesili-replies-cnbcs-tweet I did a little research to set the records straight and avoid unnecessary argument. Attached below is the organisation chart of the world bank. Madam Ngozi Okonjo Iweala was the world bank VP (corporate secretary) before joining the Obasanjo administration in 2003. She was later appointed MD after quitting the obasanjo administration. Oby Ezekwesoli was appointed world bank VP(Africa region) in 2007 and Mr Mahktar Diop took over from her when she completed her tenure in 2012. Aruma has just been appointed as world bank VP(treasurer). How on earth can she then be the first world bank African vice president?

CNBCA corrected their news Oteh however is not the first African woman to be appointed to powerful positions at the World Bank. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is one of its managing directors and Obiageli Ezekwesili, Africa Region vice president. |
