The Plateau state government on Saturday said eight people died and 101 others injured in the gas explosion at the Plateau State Water Board early Saturday.
A statement by Emmanuel Nanle, the director of press and public affairs to Governor Simon Lalong confirmed the incident, but said it has been controlled.
“One hundred and one (101) people are receiving treatment at OLA Hospital, Evangel Hospital (Jankwano), Plateau Specialist Hospital and Airforce Hospital, some of which have been discharged,” the statement said. “Eight ( people have been confirmed dead as a result of the inhalation of the contaminated air.”
