Internet Fraud: Two Nigerians To Be Arraigned In Slovania

Two Nigerians, 19 year-old Alaba Olawale and 30 year-old Yusuf Abdullahi, are to be arraigned in Slovania for defrauding some investors in the country through the Internet between 2006 and 2008. The two Nigerians were recently arrested by men of the Oyo State Police Command at popular Dugbe area of Ibadan when they went to the General Post Office located in the area to collect some of the items they had got from their victims.

They were subsequently arraigned before the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate's Court 2 of A.F Richard on a two-count charge, which included conspiracy and Advanced Fee Fraud.

According to the charge sheet with number MI/197C/2009, the accused between 2006 and 2008 at Dugbe area of Ibadan did obtain goods by false pretence and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 8(C) of the Advanced Fee Fraud and Other Related Offences Act 2006. Saturday Independent gathered that the accused were arrested with 3,000 euro, 10 laptop computers, 10 digital cameras, 20 Nokia handsets and various models value yet unknown, all of which were got from one Madison Zakrish, a Slovanian. The Magistrate had earlier granted the accused bail in sum of N500,000 each, but before the accused could perfect their bail conditions the state police command reportedly received a letter from Abuja, stating that the case should be withdrawn from the court and the accused taken to Slovania for trial.

Sources at the Iyaganku Chief Magistrate's Court informed Saturday Independent that the letter was sent from the Slovanian authority, asking for the trial of the two Nigerians in its country.

Tho!, those guys need to be severly punished!, but they cant be taken to slovenia, for what?, A crime was committed in Nigeria and they wanna try them in slovenia, this is bullshit. Why do the govt always like to rubbish the Nigerian constitution they swore to defend?, there isnt any where in the world where a crime is commit in a country "A" and then tried in country "B". Rather the slovania guy should be brought to Nigeria and tried as well. Because it was a conspiracy between him and the naija guys, they might have both planned to dupe the FG.
