I want to put cyanogenmod on my HTC m7 but I do not know if I should put the official version 11 or the unoffcial version 12.
Apart from this, I do not even know the exact process of loading cyanogenmod on the phone.

Any assistance on any of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks man but I've been to that site. The reason I opened a topic here is because I'm a noob when it comes to these things and that site isn't for noobs.

First of all: Do you have root access?
Do you have a PC?
HTC bootloader -unlike Samsung's- is locked by default and needs to be unlocked before you can flash custom firmware.
If I recall correctly, unlocking the bootloader resets the device, so you'll need to take a backup of your files.
Sign up on HTC DEV, htcdev.com/bootloader/
Select your device from the list then follow the instructions.
Come back here when you've unlocked your bootloader.

i use the same phone and i used to run cyanogenmod. awesome rom. the official one stops at 5.1 but the unofficial one is 5.2. you can run the unofficial one if you want. it works perfectly, only hitch i encountered was that the camera force-closes once in a while, but that may just have been from my phone.
