Drake’s new song “Charged Up” definitely got Meek Mill’s attention. First the Dreamchasers leader responded to the “diss track” on Twitter, and then Meek spoke on it during the Brooklyn stop of Nicki Minaj’s The Pinkprint Tour.

"You heard that sh*t? That sh*t was very soft. Baby lotion soft. We ain’t gonna focus too much motherf*cking energy on that. But I’m gonna let you know, when it comes to this rap sh*t, Biggie and 2Pac had to die to be the motherf*cking greatest. If you’re gonna be the motherf*cking greatest of this sh*t, just make sure you’re doing your motherf*cking pen game and keeping it all the way a motherf*cking hundred. Cause it’s levels to this sh*t."

Meek should've teased a new track on that stage, and then kept the public in a thirsty stupor to hear the rest. This might be proving that he either doesn't want to upset Nicki or he's incapable of the sort of strategic thinking necessary to advance his career or he hasn't got the confidence in his own song writing abilities. He's missing an opportunity, though. He needs to holla at the drums and really expose Drake for being disloyal and a non-writer.

MAN IT GOT WAYYYYYYYYYYY WORSE! Drake just dropped another diss record on him. Meek made a mistake. Drake is actually way more specific on this diss record. And disrespects him.

Drake is Drake at this point .... no one is expecting a Nas or Rakim out of him like JCole or Kendrick... This beef is total b.S ... Both these brothers need to just breeze and be happy they made it... It is not an entertaining beef at all to me...... they both fail at certain levels of emceeing, so neither one should be tryin to call another out ... make money and STFU

What's terrible to me is the narrative. It's disheartening to hear other people in the rap industry openly say it's ok for an artist to not write. Whats even worse is that the one that is probably gonna win the battle, is the supposed fraud. Just shows how backwards hip hop is coming.

This is turning into a popularity contest. . . and the 1/2 white jewish kid is wrapping this. Food chains, pronstars, wrestlers, athletes even politicians weighing in on this sh¡t not to talk of purists who think it's cool to brag about being the best lyricist and still have ghostwriters. Hiphop is a first person narrative, when you use other persons' stories, what part of the game is that? What all these point to is the intentional deliberation to dumb down hiphop, a conscious negation of what the hiphop culture represents. And you wonder why, say, Elzhi or Absoul will never get their shine, or why Killer Mike or Immortal Technique will not go platinum.
