Moses retired. Handed over to Joshua. Didn't die on the job. There is a difference between a king and a priest. Kings/leaders retire, priests/servants don't. They have retired from leadership but they will continue to serve God. The job of a modern day pastor is split.

God Almighty will retire him once a suitable replacement is found, so as not to create Leadership Vaccum, it is natural for older pastor to go, so as to create spaces for younger ones, that is how is spelt out in Redeemed Christian Church of God.

What retirement means in RCCG is that you don't have a parish under you again. They are still pastors and now have reduced responsibility mostly limited to redemption camp activities. You will be surprised that most of the "retirees" most times asked for it on health issues. They don't go round much again from parish to parish but are classified as NATIONAL ELDERS.
