Distance From Daura To Ogoniland by AbdulAdam56(m): 7:11am On Aug 08, 2015
The distance from Daura Emirate in Katsina State to Ogoniland in
Rivers State is well over 4,700 kilometres.
Daura is in South-West geopolitical zone while Ogoniland is in
South-South geopolitical zone. One must traverse through North-
Central and South-East geopolitical zones before one can get to
South-South geopolitical zone. It will take an aeroplane close to
three hours before one can get to Port Harcourt airport from
Katsina airport.
Daura is situated in North-Western part of Nigeria and is 34
kilometres to Niger Republic through Kwangolam/Maimujiya
Nigeria-Niger border. Daura is a border town to another country in
West Africa. President Muhammadu Buhari is a native of Daura
town.
Otuoke is in Bayelsa State in the South-South geopolitical zone
with Ogoniland in Rivers State. Otuoke is not more than 13
kilometres to Ogoniland. Ogoniland and Otuoke were both in the
same Rivers State before the creation of more states which made
Otuoke to fortunately or unfortunately fall in Bayelsa State in the
same South-South geopolitical zone. A well fed man can trek from
Otuoke to Ogoniland without resting more than two times along the
way. If an aeroplane should fly from Otuoke to Ogoniland, it may
not take up to seven minutes to reach to its destination. Otuoke
and Ogoniland almost speaks the same language because they are
brothers and neighbours. Former President Goodluck Jonathan is a
native of Otuoke village (village because he still left it as a village
after being a president for more than six years).
Ogoniland has problems of oil spillage since the time of Late
General Sani Abacha as the then military head of state when the
issue of Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) were
furious which led to the killing of Ogoni nine including the late Ken
Saro Wiwa.
Shonekan who is from Southern part of the country could not
solve the problem of oil spillage which destroys aquatic animal and
sea foods, plantations and vegetation, food and cash crops and
land domestic animals. Abdulsalami Abubakar could not do it.
Obasanjo who is a Southerner could not do it. Late Shehu Musa
YarA'dua could not do it. Goodluck Jonathan who is almost a
native of Ogoniland could not do it and his wife is also a native of
Rivers State which houses Ogoniland as one of the state's
communities (dog-eat-dog).
Immediately after his swearing-in, President Muhammadu Buhari
in less than 100 days in office gave a direct order for the oil
spillage to be handled and cleaned off the coasts and rivers and
seas of Ogoniland.
What a man who is a neighbour to his brother could not do is what
a man who live well over 4,700 kilometres apart is doing and doing
it with pride as if it is a project in his home town. It takes a
principled man to be the lover of all persons. Buhari is a principled
man and he is loved by all persons in Nigeria.
My brothers and sisters from Ogoniland, welcome to the world of
good water, good habitat, good vegetation and plantation, potable
water and non-disease infected animals and foods. Welcome to the
home you so much loved which your brother Goodluck Jonathan
could not fix for you but which a Fulani man is doing for you with
love and care.
Surely this does not stop the haters to keep calling President
Muhammadu Buhari all sorts of bad names but I trust him, he will
always give deaf ears to ridicules and will continue doing good for
the comfort of Nigerian people devoid of favouritism or nepotism.
Enjoy with the rest of Nigerians in good health and clean
environment which is made possible to you by President
Muhammadu Buhari.
Nigeria is President Muhammadu Buhari's one and only
constituency.
May President Muhammadu Buhari live long.

Before you start praising Buhari for the good work which he has not yet done, it is important to analyse what is on the ground. This man Buhari has ruled before and accomplished nothing. My personal opinion is that Buhari has nothing to offer. Even his first 100 days in office is turning out to be a joke. He is only there to fulfil the norths 'born to rule' agender. Isn't it ironic that Buhari who has been jumping up and down to become president of Nigeria has not yet been able to tell Nigerians one single policy his Government has for the people? Buhari should have stayed back in Daura to take care of his Cattle instead of coming back to Government

North own the south south, hence the constant rant SS is not this and SS is not that. Buhari is only cleaning his property.

Your write up is very touching. Even GEJ's associates from Ogoniland would have been very disappointed with GEJ whom they see as their brother. I learned the UNEP report to clean up Ogoniland was submitted since 2011.
More appreciation to PMB for his quick implementation of the report even before 100 days in office.
