well said
When I was still a learner my driving instructor
Said "no good or bad drivers only living and dead drivers"
As a young guy who has only been driving for 3 years I sometimes feel the need to turn the road into my race track but I control my self except when the road is completely free and familiar

There is no "completely free and familiar" road. The road you just passed in the morning may have collapsed at a bridge or have a tree trunk crossing it in the aftermath of a storm by afternoon.

Always drive in a way you can completely stop within a viewable distance.
