All this pple shouting fraud and corruption......SMH for Una sef. This is just an error dat was occasioned by over-bureaucracy and communication gaps prevalent in government establishments. Tell me, wat will national hospital do with N50k? A hospital dat pays ordinary interns close to 200k a month, a hospital with a wage bill exceeding 500million naira monthly. If u have been to national hospital, u will realise that they are well equipped with world standard medical equipment and they spend good cash to maintain them. Let us learn to approach issues with maximum objectivity. It helps us to sleep better. 2 Likes |

Not strange..More grievious corrupt practices are rife at the NHA..From monies paid to the facility that disappear, to finance personnel taking a percentage of patient bills and writing off the remainder etc.. If only whistle-blowing works in this 'jungle'.. |

Imagine 50k in 100 places...it's you who needs to be more objective.. plus who says that is the only area fraud is being practiced.. all these teaching hospitals need to be audited.. so many ghost workers.. using personnel money for personal gain, not paying approved allowances for doctors, this is why resident doctors are on strike.. pls follow @luthard100 and @uch_ard then u will know it's a cabal... obstead200:

obstead200:You are part of the problem. You've gone as far as defending the indefensible. The issue here is not the salary structure or world class equipment. The patient was made to pay for an operation they don't have the equipment. Worse, she is yet to get her refund. What do you call that? In a saner country, she will sue easily. 1 Like |

The truth is that most FG medical personnels (abi nah practioners) in Abuja Govt hospitals are so blackend and gaddamn wicked! How will u tk somebody for an emergency case and the first comment u hear from their mouth is either, ' ...pay for this, or where is ur police report?' #smh An asthmatic guy was taken to the hospital with a severe attack, somebody in that situation needs aminophyylin and hydorcortesone intra-veinous drugs. But, rather the sick4k in white sluggishly attendded to the patient finding it difficult to breath, asking him to go get his form and plenty rubbish. At the end he had to sit and queue to use the oxygen mask , yes oh! One nebullizer machine like that , rinsed the nose/mouth mask after each use with ordinary tap water. Now, for e mind e dey use one kind advanced tech meanwhile its almost same as inhaler. The otondo come dey charge 2,500 for each user #smh Abeg , anybody in Abuja that doubts shd visit Asokoro hospital...undercover-mode. |

The person who booked her in should be arrested simple before it becomes a common occurrence. By this time you would think one IGP and the health department of the federal ministry of health would have taken up her case, but no why are we still paying people in that ministry if they can't do their jobs properly. |

They should pay back for everybody that applied for that same procedure 3yrs back. 2ndly, they should henceforth stop collecting money for any operation they cannot conduct and refer all cases that ordinarily cannot perform. |

shadowgwalker: pls next time read before coming online to display your ignorance. oxygen and nebulised salbutamol are the first step in the management of severe acute asthma. hydrocortisone is the second step. aminophylline comes later. the fact that u do nonsense in ur private facility doesn't make it standard. 2 Likes |

Its a pity this just another of the baggage if extortions patients & customers face while accessing care in our public health institutions which includes paying for materials & PPEs(gloves, needles, face masks, oxygen supply, bedshets) wch ordinarily shld b provided by Hosp, demanding inducement from patients covertly or subtly otherwise b4 procedures are carried out on them.Diverting patients & prefential treatment to identified or 'cooperating' patients still abounds. By acts of connivance willfully or not being aware, some management still don't provide funds for some tests services & drugs thereby encouraging loss of revenue to the nearby private out fits. Above all, patients resign to their fates, become discouraged by bottlenecks or disregard further actions either cos the amount involved can b overlooked. ...&in most cases they have no one to turn to, or complain hopelessly |
