There's a store that sells quite a bit of crafting yarn and crochet needles, it's in Ikeja but I don't have the address. Go on Instagram and check @Crafties4all. I believe they also have a website but check their Instagram page. I met them somewhere at a fair and see their stuff but I don't have any info on them as per contact, just instagram. HTH

In beween them and AB Art world you should be able to get what you need (for now). I know Crafties4all had better quality yarn than the ones in the market (locally-made but still support the Kano ones as we want to grow the Naira nah cheesy)

Lovely lovely lovely works ladies!

I need to get my hook on! Caught up on doing other stuff but I am getting loads of motivation from you all. I have gone to caress my yarn stash.......and have been looking at my hooks with one eye from afar! grin

Maybe we should organise a Crochet-along to ginger lazy buggers like me. undecided

Happy crocheting ladies.
In support!

Rezzy, my fellow crocheters have answered ur quest. Just like Ynnk pointed out Yeye seems to be d best of all. Its more expensive dan d normal hair wool.

Onegai thanks for the info.

Ynnk:

You can use the ones for hair if you like, but those ones have a mild elastic texture that tends to shrink your finished work.

The regular yarn can be found in shops where clothing accessories are sold. Yeye is the common brand.
thanks ynnk for shedding more light on this,
i thought it was the same cos there is no yeye
yarn where i stay.

i will have to find this yeye brand of wool.
Re: My Crochet Fantasy by Sharoniah(f): 8:09am On Apr 26, 2016
in case you don't find 'yeye', you can go for 'cardi-knit', their yarn is quite more full and silky than 'yeye', but they don't have all colours

I propose a throw pillow cover or something easy and small enough that peoplw will finish on time.
Any other ideas?

Couple of questions:
Do we all use the same pattern? or

everybody do your own pattern and just post pics of our progress?

Are we giving our selves a time frame to finish the project? A month or 2 months?

Ok my good people of God!

I have been gingered!!!

Crochet-A-Long (CAL) starting soon!
1st of May is only 3 days away!
Any more suggestions my lovely people?

Basic guidelines:

●Suggestions of projects by anyone is welcome, however it must be a useful item, which is small enough enough to be finishedti8 on time.

●Duration of each is project 2- 3 months max.

●If you suggest an item and it is chosen as the CAL project - please provide a clear image or weblink to the pattern. Other suggestions will be put on the list for upcoming CAL sessions.

●Everyone can choose their own colour scheme to make the project in.

● Everyone can tweek project to suit them i.e if we do a throw pillow cover you may want to add buttons or make it envelope back so you can take it off to wash, or if we do table mats you can decide to make it a bit bigger to fit a table you have. Etc etc.... let your creativity shine.

● When choosing a pattern please bear in mind that not everyone has a large selection of hook sizes and yarn weights at their disposal. So for the initial suggestions let's keep it a bit conservative to materials that are readily available so that as many people as possible can join in.

(If a large hook or chunky wool is required for the project and you use a smaller hook/thinner yarn bear in mind you will likely need to have a few more rounds to get it to the requires size. - all part of the creativity)

● If you are new to crochet, dont run away! We are all here to help each other. You shall be a master someday.

I will update if i think of anything else!

Any further suggestions of guidelines welcome.

GOD BLESS!
