A suspected cannibal serial killer dubbed the 'Granny Ripper' may have murdered and eaten at least TEN more victims, it has been claimed.

Pensioner Tamara Samsonova admitted killing 11 people in a diary where she kept a grisly record of her crimes.

The 68-year-old is thought to have beheaded and dismembered her victims during a 20 year spree in St Petersburg, Russia.

But police fear her death count may double as they probe her diary entries in an attempt to link possible victims to missing persons cases, the Sun reported.

At a court hearing in St Petersburg last week, Samsonova told a judge: “I am guilty and I deserve to be punished” before blowing a kiss to assembled court reporters.

When the judge announced she would be remanded in custody she clapped her hands and smiled.

The suspected serial killer was held in Russia's second city after CCTV footage emerged, allegedly showing her carrying the body parts of an elderly woman in a black plastic bag.

A former hotel worker, she entered details of macabre secret life in diaries which she kept in Russian, English and German alongside black magic and astrological books.
