FG appoints KPMG, PWC to audit NNPC, other agencies
The Federal Government on Thursday appointed international audit firms, KPMG and PriceWaterhouse Cooper to conduct comprehensive audit of the accounts of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and other revenue generating agencies.

The appointment was disclosed to State House correspondents by Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole at the end of the second meeting of the four man panel set up by the National Economic Council (NEC).

The decision to appoint the two audit firms, he said, was taken to allow for professionalism.

Good one by the federal government. The audit firms should be able to do a comprehensive forensic audit this time around unlike the haphazard job they did during the GEJ administration. This time, all records will be made available to them so, no more excuse. Nigerians want to know the exact amount that all these revenue generating agencies held back illegally from the federation account. We can kick start the anti corruption war with all these agencies.

This is a welcome development. Both are respectable firms which were also employed by the past administration. So therefore whatever report they submit, no matter how damning it is , would be accepted by all and sundry. I only wish the head of the 4 man committee had resorted to such proper channels earlier on, instead of tarnishing his reputation in a most ignoble way

I wish the comprehensive investigation can start from 1999....PDP really wreck havoc to the economy of this country and it stil amaze me that some future leaders of Nigeria are still identifying with PDP
