Warri Wolves are desperate for a clinical home victory against
relegation-threatened Dolphins in Nigeria Professional Football
League Week 23 tie on Sunday.
The Seasiders need three points to consolidate on their first
leg scoreless draw at Dolphins and close-up on top-two seater
Enyimba and Sunshine Stars.
Sunday’s encounter at the Warri Township Stadium will be the
12th meeting between both sides since January 2010 and tied
on 15 points from all previous 11 meetings.
Coach Paul Aigbogun’s men have had an incredible rise-to-
the-top with only a defeat in last eight games including the
recent 1-1 draw at Giwa FC.
In recent five games, Wolves have recorded two wins, two
draws and a loss while Dolphins had two wins, a draw and
two defeats with the hosts in better form.
On scoring form, Eguma’s side have allowed 12 goals in
recent five matches at Wolves and conceded in total 26 goals
against the hosts 21 this season.
Visitors Dolphins suffered a setback in their survival quest as
they were held to a 1-1 draw by Abia Warriors in Port Harcourt
on Wednesday, would delight handling their survival hopes a
huge boost in Warri.
Warri Wolves have 37 points and third on the NPFL log, while
Dolphins are 18th with 21 points both from 22 matches.
